Help with new BF ex and their child

Hi, I'm really struggling with this whole blended family stuff. I've been with my BF a while now (but less than one year) and our kids met, got on etc and things seemed to be going well, then his child went home and said they didn't like seeing me or my children so the Mum stopped it. So now I have my kids asking about the other child (which we don't see) my BF sees his child without us and is involved in no activities with us. Yet my children are actively involved in doing stuff with me and him. I'm finding it so hard to keep biting my tongue as I want us all to interact etc. Any wise words???
