CSA and tax credit overpayments

Reposted from the "money" board as there's more traffic here!

DH has been paying CM via the CSA for several years. His, and my, income has fluctuated a lot in that time, and DH has always updated the CSA with his income changes and sent through the updated tax credit award notices as we've had them.

Because of the various changes in income, the final tax credit award notices for the last couple of years (13/14 and 14/15) have both arrived in the last few weeks; which include an (expected) overpayment, which we will be paying back directly to HMRC; we're not having it deducted from future payments.

Will the CSA re-calculate the amount of CM owed during those periods based on the revised Tax Credit award notices?

I'm not sure, but you might be safer to just put the money aside and let them gradually take it off this year's award. Then the CSA amount should be slightly lower this year.

Thanks yellow - problem is, we've been assessed as not being eligible for an award this year - even though we anticipate circumstances changing before the end of the year. Confused.

So, we have been told that we have to repay a portion of the overpayment.
