Anyone remember this thread?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sporner_corner/3713611-KLAXON-Abscess-in-my-armpit-Warning-May-contain-unshaven-armpit

Well that one all cleared up. This week I've developed new ones, in both pots at the same time!!! Trying to get a GP appointment, but can't call back for one until 2pm when the next lot get released.

Woke up this morning and one of the lumps had started leaking. So I thought I'd film it for you lot!!! Seriously painful. And I can't reach properly to squeeze, there's definitely loads more stuff in there. I am not a happy bunny

Pain and discomfort aside, it's pretty epic! However they really are nasty.

Theres 2 in my other armpit that are twice the size of that one. Will endeavour to record those too.

There is also one on my arse-cheek... the contortions I've just performed to view it in the mirror and stab it... the relief from that is immense!

Are the antibiotics helping. That looks really painful. Hope you sleep tonight.

I have one in my armpit at the minute so you have my empathy. It's a crappy condition, I've had it since I was about 12

Here is my epic one the hospital gave me a GA for. You can see the redness up my arm and down onto my chest, it's on a previous scar that's usually indented hence the weird shape. I've never had one that was so infected, the heat was radiating!

Have they taken a swab of it for the lab?

On Tuesday the GP just had a feel of it really. The antibiotics don't seem to be doing anything, so I'm going back to the GP at 11:40. Seeing the same one as before, hopefully she will refer me somewhere that will lance them!!

I was back asleep again before 9 last night and slept through til 7. I'm totally exhausted still though. Left pit swelling has really come up overnight. There's a head on it now, so I could squeeze, but there's no way it would all come out and I want the GP to see the extent of how bad it is.

Ouch, much as I love s boil yours look far too sore. I hope you get them sorted very soon.

If you're getting these recurrent abscesses that aren't getting better with treatment maybe it's worth mentioning PVL Staphylococcus aureus to your doctor and ask to take a swab. I'm guessing they gave you flucloxacillin which wouldn't help if it's PVL-SA (could actually make it worse). I hope you get sorted OP.

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 14/11/2019 11:24

I think I will ask them to take a swab. Yes flucloxacillin. It never really does anything.

This is my 8th or 9th skin infection in 5 months. I'd never had one before. There's got to be something going on

Hey OP, much as I love your grim pics and videos, I really would insist on a swab and/or referral. That is an awful lot of sudden skin infections. I would suggest differently if it was the same cyst repeatedly coming back (in which case the sac needs to be fully removed), but this number of different sores really needs to be investigated, Good luck!

Report
ClientListQueen · 14/11/2019 14:11

Definitely mention it and they should look at referring you. I do suspect it's HS though as armpit is such a common area for it and the cysts don't have a sac usually

GP has sent me up to the surgeons at the big hospital. I popped home to grab some bits and have a shower. I didn't have one this morning because I didn't want to interfere with the pits before the GP saw them.

Just been sent over to Same Day Emergency Care as opposed to A&E. Waiting for triage. Feeling very grotty

Hopefully they can sort it out Thanks it's miserable

I am very bored. Still waiting to see the doctors, the person in front of me just got called by a very handsome doc, I am slightly jealous! Although I might've been a bit embarrassed to show him my gross pits Blush

It's so miserable. All I want to do is curl up and sleep.

That's HS and anti biotics won't touch it.
Please be careful what you do, join fb groups and watch for latest research.
My dh is stage 2 and has had several operations.
You need to cover with a dressing to protect your clothes.
Boil or throw away clothes that have touched your arm pits.
