Dc is 10 months and is inexplicably crusty behind the ears. I've just had a good old pick (my baby, therefore my ear crust) and i have a delicious little pile sitting on the arm of the sofa. Husband thinks i'm disgusting, i'm not though, am i?

Er, photo?

No, you're absolutely not. DS had inner ear crust when he was a baby. I loved it and picked it and examined it, it was lovely. DP had quite a lit to say about it (he's not a sporner) but as you quite rightly say, my baby, my ear crust. Make the most of it now because DS's cleared up very suddenly.

as requested, joff!

You may need to wash and cream behind his ears now he's having solids...

Is it crusty food or crusty baby? I longed for DS to get cradle cap but sadly I was denied. I remember my mum telling me how much she'd enjoyed my and my brother's cradle cap when we were babies.

nope, it's not food - 100% ear crust! i use cream on him and most of his crusty patches have gone away apart from this one patch behind his left ear grin

I made my baby bald by picking his cradle cap. My baby, my cradle cap.
Great times.

A baby in my baby sensory class had amazingly thick but dry and crusty looking cradle cap. We wouldn't sit next to her because I wanted to pick it so much. It's nearly three years ago and I still think of it wistfully.

OP, what's it look like underneath? Is it crusting up again? Can we see?!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface Sat 07-Oct-17 18:28:54

I have a daith piercing which gets crusty every now and then.

Nothing as fancy as that though...

oh cradle cap would be my dream come true! sadly, neither dc obliged on that front!

he's sleeping at the moment but i'll check the crusty status in the morning and report back!

Ah this thread makes me feel better. My friends youngest had the most incredible cradle cap - huge scales like on freshwater fish like carp. One day I removed two scales,I still think about it! My kids did give me some cradle cap joy but nothing like that. How her mother left it alone I will never know

MinnowAndTheBear Sat 07-Oct-17 23:06:52

Little clumps of hair used to come off along with the scales wistful sigh

Op, I think we have the same sofa! Or at least fabric. Is it Sofa Wearhouse.

Nice crust btw

That's amazing. I dream of finding something like that.

I love cradle cap, I used to like soaking it with oil and then sliding the nitty gritty comb under and out and lifting off big soggy crusts to inspect. Whenever I hold a friends baby I give it a quick check over pretending to smooth their little baldy heads grin

I still think of the boyfriend I had in my teens, not because of any romantic teenage lust reasons but simply because he had the most amazing blackheads that were huge and he would let me squeeze them

@MinnowAndTheBear I used to do this too! So satisfying ! Luckily my DD had a full head of hair from birth so she was still a hairy bear grin

I did this and the poor boy got all a bit infected. I went to the doctor about his conjunctivitis and he said don't worry about that, but behind his ears needs cream to clear up the infection blush
