Ugh this is well grim, please bear with me.

I've had a pilar cyst on the back of my head for a few years now, and it minded its own business until last week when I caught it with my hairbrush. What started off as maybe a 1in lump swelled up to maybe 2.5in and hurt like fuck. Went to the doctors on Wednesday and got anti-b's and got told they could remove it but the Doctor that does that only works on Wednesdays and I'd missed her for that week.

I woke up in the night in fucking awful pain. It almost throbs and is so taut, if that makes sense. I can't lie on it or in any way that it almost touches the pillow. It's hot and the glands in the back of my head and neck are up and hurt sad

Just before I started writing this, something popped and now the back of my head it soaked with what I guess is pus <boak> The lump is still there though.

So my questions given that I won't get a doctors appointment today:

1) Do I just keep it clean, keep taking the tablets and get an appointment asap? Could be days though, knowing my surgery.

2) It fucking hurts and is spewing something out now - would a walk-in centre be able to do anything given that I'm already on antibiotics?

Thanks in advance, your gross friend,

ps. I know the rules. It's really hard to get a pic of the back of your own head, and it's covered by my hair. If anything further develops I'll ask DH to take a pic tonight.

I'd go to a walk in.

desperate for photos

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia Thu 02-Mar-17 09:10:36

<tut> have you REALLY tried?? hmm ??

I think this is the very thing that walk-ins and minor injuries are there for. Hope you get it sorted.

girlandboy Thu 02-Mar-17 09:11:18

I agree, it's a walk-in job. If nothing else they'll clean and dress it. also waits for photos

Pitchforktotheface Thu 02-Mar-17 09:14:05

The inventor of the selfie stick was a sporner!

Sounds like a walk-in job to me

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 09:25:36

Muahaha I really have tried, honest. I'd quite like to see what it looks like! This is the best I can manage...

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 09:26:28

Honestly, it's like I'm growing a new head. I feel so attractive right now sad

Angryangryyoungwoman Thu 02-Mar-17 09:28:42

I'd agree with walk in centre

kineticmagnetic Thu 02-Mar-17 09:29:11

Definitely walk in centre

user1483387154 Thu 02-Mar-17 09:29:13

Please go to the walk in centre with that, it needs to be properly disinfected.

Great photo btw

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 09:32:18

<bows> thanks user

Thanks everyone, I'll go and will, of course, keep you all updated smile

Eragonsegg Thu 02-Mar-17 09:35:01

Oooooooh. I had one of those on my crown. It got infected and was like a large grape. When i went to see the gp, he actually rubbed his hands with glee when i agreed to get it drained. A syringe full of green pus came out.

Anyway, enough of my happy trip down memory lane. You're clearly rocking quite the infection, go and get it checked.

Maudlinmaud Thu 02-Mar-17 10:29:53

You rock Rose! 🤘

I do hope they sort it for you though.

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 15:39:51

I just wrote a long reply and lost it. But in summary, here are two more pics, including a side elevation to demonstrate its golfballness.

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 15:40:27

Try again

A1Sharon Thu 02-Mar-17 15:42:51

Are you sure a nest of spiders isn't about to fall out of your head?!
Definitely a walk in centre, or A&E, I don't think they would object to seeing you if no walk in or minor injuries.

Trumpssyrup Thu 02-Mar-17 15:42:52

OMG! Why have you not had it looked at yet! Thats massive!

PotteringAlong Thu 02-Mar-17 15:45:20

Bloody hell! Definitely get that seen to again asap!

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 15:45:20

I had to hang on for my mom to take my DD. I know she'll be the new generation of sporners but a rampaging 3yr old in a room of ill people would be no fun. I'm on my way there now smile

PotteringAlong Thu 02-Mar-17 15:45:47

Hope you get sorted flowers

Trumpssyrup Thu 02-Mar-17 15:46:20

Fairy muff - good luck - update us later!

Maudlinmaud Thu 02-Mar-17 15:47:04

That's almost cartoon bump like Rose, not surprised it's sore.

ohfourfoxache Thu 02-Mar-17 15:48:57

Bloody hell that looks sore shock

You do have fabulous hair though envy

RoseCuntedGlasses Thu 02-Mar-17 15:58:23

Aw thanks ohfourfoxache You have a genius user name! My hair's been useful in hiding my second head all this time. Boak.
