We’re delighted to offer 26 Mumsnetters (with a plus one) the chance to attend an exclusive Mumsnet preview screening of the acclaimed new film, Viceroy’s House, starring Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and Gillian Anderson (The X Files, The Fall) on Thursday 2nd March – in central London.

Starring Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson as Lord and Lady Mountbatten, and set against an exotic Indian backdrop at the time of the Raj, the powerful new film VICEROY’S HOUSE tells the incredible true story of the final months of British rule in India. A celebration of the resilience of the human spirit, the film’s release will coincide with the 70th anniversary of the independence of India and the founding of Pakistan. The Viceroy’s House was the home of the British rulers of India. Charged with handing India back to its people, the Mountbattens lived upstairs, where the political elite wrangled over the birth of independent India. Downstairs, among the 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants, the social impact of this divide is reflected through the eyes of a pair of young lovers whose sweeping romance is forbidden.

What a shame! I'd never get there in time after doing bedtime, and although I'd love to bring DD, it's too late on a school night. sad

I'd love to too, but the timings wouldn't work for me either. Shame as my late Dad lived through this and would have been 15 years old at the time of Independence! Wish I could ask him about it sad

BagelGoesWalking Sun 19-Feb-17 20:36:12

I would love 2 tickets, please. My son and his gf would like to see this so it'll be a toss up who gets to go!

Or, could they go together and send me a review which I'll post on Mumsnet? They're a younger demographic and would post on other social media as well.
