This is the thread for the 10 MNers who went along to the new look Beefeater in Guildford Parkway for the launch event of their new partnership with the Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

Beefeater say of the partnership: "Our tie in with Mr Men and Little Miss reignites the infamous partnership Beefeater had with the Mr Men Little Miss brand in the 1980's and '90s, forming part of Beefeater’s 40th celebrations in 2014. Throughout the two-year tie-up, families will have an opportunity to engage with the Mr Men Little Miss characters in a host of ways at the restaurants - including a brand new Mr. Men themed activity pack, balloons, new Kids Eat Free on Saturday’s offer as well as an all new kids menu including a free drink - we'd love to hear what MNers think about it all!"

So, if you attended the event, please answer the following questions. All attending MNers who add their feedback would be then entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 Beefeater voucher. Do also post any photos from the event on the thread. Thanks.

a) What do you think about the revitalised two year partnership with Beefeater and Mr. Men?
b) Please tell us your thoughts about the different activities of the day, from the Adam Hargreaves workshop, to the face painting, balloons and activity pack?
c) What was your experience of the all new Mr. Men kids menu? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the menu choices, offers and quality of the food?
d) Overall, how would you rate your experience at the launch of the new look Beefeater and Mr. Men restaurant partnership?

If you didn't attend the launch, please share on this thread your all time favourite Mr Men or Little Miss character and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer picked at random will win a £100 Beefeater voucher!

Thanks and good luck!

The two year partnership between Beefeater and Mr Men is a fantastic idea, with meals being named appropriately after Mr/Little Miss characters! Most people are aware of Mr Men books and we all have our favourite character!
My family had a wonderful day and were kept very busy with the planned activities. The face painting was out of this world with children having their favourite characters painted on their faces, such a talented lady!

We were in total awe of Adam Hargreaves who made time to teach the children how to draw some of the characters and also judged the ice cream sundae competition!! He also very kindly looked at my daughter's new creation for a Mr Man which was very special.

The food was delicious and extremely good quality!! The chicken nuggets were pure chicken and my children really enjoyed their lunch. There was also a good choice of food on the menu. The staff were very friendly too!

Overall we had a wonderful day and felt very lucky to have been one of the families chosen for this fantastic experience. Thank you to everyone involved on the day and to Kat for keeping the children amused!

What an amazing experience! We arrived and the kids queued up for professional photos with Mr Tickle and Little Miss Sunshine. Then they had a choice of activities - face painting of the characters by a very talented lady, a reading corner and an activity area with magazines, crayons and paper.
The lovely Kat who presented the event was great at encouraging the kids to join in and read a story whilst Adam Hargreaves gave the children a drawing workshop of Mr Tickle!
My son drew several characters and was thrilled to show them to Adam who signed his picture - how special is that!!
Group photos with the characters outside preceded a delicious lunch. Food arrived promptly and we were all impressed with the variety and quality.
The kids then had an icecream sundae decorating competition which was judged by Adam - some great creations!
An amazing day and we were impressed by the Beefeater which is also our local one - and will be visiting again! Thank you so much Mumsnet for picking us!

Forgot to add the kids love the new en with the Mr Men.and Little Miss character themed meals. I think it's great that Beefeater are reviving the partnership and I was impressed by the choice and quality of the meals available. Kids eat free from 12-5 on a Saturday so we will definitely be back!

a) What do you think about the revitalised two year partnership with Beefeater and Mr. Men?

I wasn't aware of the earlier partnership but it seems to match ok, and I like the 'kids eat free' aspect of it.

b) Please tell us your thoughts about the different activities of the day, from the Adam Hargreaves workshop, to the face painting, balloons and activity pack?

My children enjoyed the face painting - even my son who doesn't usually go for it, and the drawing demonstration by Adam Hargreaves. It would have been nice to hear a little bit more from Adam Hargreaves himself, about how his Dad started writing the books, how easy it was for him to take over etc, rather than just hearing from a slightly over-enthusiastic compere. Balloons were popular but ran out, and the activity pack was well-received and seemed a good fit for my aged children (7 and 9)

c) What was your experience of the all new Mr. Men kids menu? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the menu choices, offers and quality of the food?

Because we were asked to pre-order our meals from a limited selection, I didn't really get to look at the new menu - it certainly wasn't mentioned at the launch. The selection offered to the children was good though, and the portion sizes were just right for them but they don't eat loads, so an older or hungrier child might find the portions a bit small. It would also have been good to have a choice of vegetables for the children, as not everyone likes peas, but this may have been available with the full menu. Certainly the quality of the food was good, when it arrived (the kitchen seemed rather overwhelmed with the size of the group and we were waiting for over an hour between the starters and main courses, though I think some were waiting even longer).

d) Overall, how would you rate your experience at the launch of the new look Beefeater and Mr. Men restaurant partnership?

The entertainent was enjoyable and relaxed. The food was great, but it took a very long time to arrive, so we were very hungry. Adult portions were very big, but children's portions on the small size. We enjoyed our time though, and would go back on a less busy occasion.

Thank you for the opportunity. I would love to see some of the photos that were taken!

c) What was your experience of the all new Mr. Men kids menu? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the menu choices, offers and quality of the food?
The menu was very good and food quality and portion size very good too. One of my sons had the pasta which he ate all of and the other had steak burger which he enjoyed. They also loved the ice cream challenge at the end creating a special ice cream with lots of decorations

a) What do you think about the revitalised two year partnership with Beefeater and Mr. Men?
I wasn't aware of this prior to our visit but it's a great idea for younger kids.

b) Please tell us your thoughts about the different activities of the day, from the Adam Hargreaves workshop, to the face painting, balloons and activity pack? My eldest is 6 and thinks he is 16 so when I told him we would be meeting Mr Men it didn't impress him that much but since Saturday he's drawn half of the Mr Men and he has plans to finish the rest by this weekend! Both my boys loved the day and the staff were excellent and very attentive.

c) What was your experience of the all new Mr. Men kids menu? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the menu choices, offers and quality of the food?
Both boys enjoyed their meals and I tasted it (when they weren't looking!) and the poppin chicken was fine, you could tell it wasn't processed. But it would have been nice to have a little talk about the food- where it was sourced, how it was made, etc.
d) Overall, how would you rate your experience at the launch of the new look Beefeater and Mr. Men restaurant partnership?
My main gripe was the service. We had to wait quite a while for our meal but I noticed by the time we had finished ours a couple of families still hadn't had theirs. And the sundae challenge was a bit useless to be honest. My poor boys didn't want to eat theirs until it had been judged but it took a while!
But on the whole it was a lot of fun. The boys were happy with the colour packs and stickers and balloons AND face painting! Thank you Mr men, beefeater and mumsnet! We would definitely go back as the food was surprisingly tasty!

Mr Bump, Mr Tickle and Mr Noisy; Mr Bump because I was perpetually banging into things and falling over as a child, Mr Tickle because I've always found him funny (even if he would get into trouble for actually tickling me - I hate it!) and Mr Noisy because he was the Mr Man on my calendar (as a child) for October (when my birthday is ) and he was/is definitely the most appropriate Blush

I have always loved reading the Mr Men and Little Miss books! They are all great in their own little ways! I can't wait for my son to be old enough to read them with him and he understand them properly!

Little Miss Sunshine is my favourite as my husband brought me a Little Miss Sunshine bookmark when we were homeless and it was the sweetest gift I'd ever received! (My son has since chewed it all up when he found it when teething!)
