Ahead of the release on March 21st of the new Paramount Pictures film Labor Day featuring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, we have been asked to find around lots and lots of Mumsnetters plus friend(s) to attend an exclusive preview screening of the film at a variety of locations across England. This is a great opportunity to see a new movie ahead of its official release at one of these fab MN screenings for grown ups only (no under 12's allowed)

You can view the film trailer here:

Synopsis:

Labor Day stars: Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith and Tobey Maguire

Synopsis: From Academy Award® winning director Jason Reitman, 'Up In The Air', 'Juno', comes 'Labor Day'. A story that centres on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele (Kate Winslet) while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers (Josh Brolin), a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.

I think I will be hard pushed to find a friend to go with! Not such a fan of Kate. I'm looking forward to going though.

Are Welsh and Scottish mumsnetters not good enough to be reviewers then? Hmm

Report
Gracelo · 08/03/2014 07:45

Or Northern Irish reviewers?
I was just about to ask the same Amandine

AnnMumsnet · 08/03/2014 08:30

Sorry if it's not in your area.

Report
Gracelo · 08/03/2014 08:44

Ann I live so rural nothing ever is in my area.
I think what is a bit annoying though is to have "Nationwide" in the title and then it is only about England. This sort of thing really annoys many Scottish people (and I bet the Welsh and Irish) and really, I could do with fewer reasons for grievances, at least until the referendum is over in September.

It's really not nationwide at all - all the screenings are either in the north of England or London. Why is that? Why not spread it out a bit more, have one in Bristol or Cardiff, or Glasgow or Belfast? Confused Who thinks up these things and why?

Have amended title.

Kate Winslet (in an interview with Chrissie Wood in US Vogue) slagged off Mumsnet.

Think I'll pass.
