The good people at Currys have asked us to find out your top tips and tricks for making the oh-so-glamorous task of cleaning the kitchen a little bit quicker, easier and more straightforward.

my tips are quite straightforward....clean as you go...and keep the oven clean by wiping inside after each use.
I also 'polish up surfaces and appliances after a clean using normal furniture polish sparingly on a dry cloth.....none of this fancy 'stainless steel cleaner' stuff.
I also find minimalist is the way to goin the kitchen....less stuff there is out,less to clean or collect dust
half a lemon n a cup of boiled water in the microwave for 30 secs - loosens up the grease and just wipe clean with no scrubbing
And let the chemicals do the work. Spray cleaner on surfaces / hobs and then leave them for a few minutes. Then the wiping will be easier.
To clean oven shelves and grill pan with burnt on food or grease, soak them in bio washing powder in hour water for 10 minutes. Works like a dream.
Step one, buy expensive cleaning 'stuff', Step two hire a cleaner.
I buy cleaning wipes - for wood, tv and kitchen, little and often so that nothing gets bad makes it easier to keep the house clean.
Invest in decent cleaning cloths. Much easier to clean with and not an expensive and tremendous waste like disposable cloths.
Zoflora disinfectant is amazing at cleaning kitchen sides, a little goes a long way and it makes your kitchen smell clean and fresh.
Cut a lemon and sit in hot water for a few minutes, then use the water to clean your hob. Cuts through all the grease with ease.
Most importantly, don't leave the mess until later! Yes, it will 'still be there when you get back' but it will also be set solid and take forever to clean. 5 minutes now can save half a hour of swearing and sweating later.
We clean as we go. When we do the washing up, it takes no time to then clean the hob/wipe down the surfaces. Keeps it all looking clean.
Once a week we have a proper clean of the kitchen; hot soapy water to clean the shelves of the fridge and clean down the door as it generally has sticky finger marks; clean of work surfaces/hob with disinfectant etc. The oven is done every so often with specific oven cleaner. I wish it cleaned itself though, would be so much easier!
The kitchen floor gets a sweep each day, and a clean with floor wipes once a week, or more often if required.
I find hot soapy water cleans well if done regularly, and a squirt of Dettol once a week unless raw meat has been in contact with surfaces in which case it is disinfected there and then. We try not to use too many chemicals unless something looks really grubby or hasn't been cleaned for a while for whatever reason.
My tips are to use cotton buds to clean the awkward bits on the oven door insides (where chips or small things fall) holding kitchen roll underneath to catch any debris. Don't leave anything on the hob to dry too long, wipe it up whilst it's still warm and anything lifts off easy instead of having to scrub it. I cheat with the oven racks and give them a quick scour then just put them in the dishwasher. Gets them clean better than anything I can do. I do use kitchen roll and multipurpose spray when wiping surfaces down as though it's probably not the most economically friendly I think it's better as you know you arent inadvertently spreading any bacteria around.
I have oven liner from the pound shop at the bottom of the oven which goes in the dishwasher every few weeks. The plan was to wipe the sides of the oven down after every use which would have been great if I actually did it! I have no tips for cleaning the oven, mine is disgusting.
My best tip is to try to put as much away in cupboards as possible - the more stuff out in the kitchen the more needs cleaning.
Oh and I use the dishwasher tablet trick for the oven door if it gets really grimy. Just using the tablet dunked in warm water and rubbed over the glass makes the grim just wipe away easily.
I am a bit of a slattern tbh, though my cleaner keeps us in shape. But for the oven, the Lakeland oven liner is brill as the oven never really gets dirty, and the shelves go in the dishwasher. I use Lakeland grill pan liner things so the meat goes directly on them and all the grease is soaked up.
In the fridge, the drawers are lined with kitchen roll which keeps them much nicer
I use bicarbonate of soda to de-odourise the fridge and also to clean stubborn tea stains off my cups.
I use neat vinegar to being up the shine on my sink.
i use the Mr Muscle cleaner for the oven and find it really works well and i wipe down the hob after every use to keep it sparkling. In the fridge i give it a clean with hot soapy water and wash the shelves down too. The floor is swept and washed with flash but it seems neverending as the dog runs his muddy footprints on it as soon as it is done.
I keep a spray Ecover by the sink and clean as I go, using jcloths.
When I've made a mess on the hob, I pour a little boiling water onto it and leave it to loosen the dirt and grease.
When the kitchen needs a really good clean I put on my gardening clothes, tie up my hair and lather my hands with handcream. I put on my marigolds and listen to the radio (plays are good) while I work. The handcream and marigolds gives your bands a lovely deep moisturize treatment. Then I have a glass of something nice in a warm bath.
When it comes to cleaning the kitchen it's the splashback tiles that get my goat! I microwave a damp flannel for approx two minutes and then I have a lovely steamy hot cloth to cut through the grime that tends to cling to my tiles. My other top tip when it comes to tiles (and grout) is to use a toothbrush with your normal cleaning fluid to really get into the nooks and crannies - they will sparkle like new after you do that. Not time saving perhaps but worth the effort for the effect it has on your kitchen!
The best way to keep the kitchen clean is to clean as you go, wiping up any spills when they are wet.
I use antibac spray to clean the hob and find that it cleans most things straight off. For stubborn spills I let them soak in a little water first, and then they wipe right off.
For the oven, regular cleaning is the best, but it often gets overlooked! So I find that Mr Muscle oven cleaner works really well, however I have to hand that task over to DH as it upsets my asthma!
For limescale marks, I like to mix a couple capfuls of white vinegar with washing up liquid and a little water, mixed in a spray bottle - spray on and the limescale marks come right off!
Clean as you go, and my top tip is to wipe down stainless steel appliances and glass doors with baby wipes, and buff with tumble dryer sheets. The baby wipes clean gently, and buffing with the tumble dryer sheets stops smears, and helps prevent dust.
Lemon wedges! 20 mins in an oven and everything just wipes out or bicarb on a dish in a fridge gets rid of most smells!
My steam cleaner is the best thing for kitchen grime. Nothing comes close to it for ease and results.
To clean an oven you can mix salt, baking powder and water. Mix to a paste spread it on with a brush and leave it overnight.
Then wipe it off the next morning. Saves on a lot of scrubbing time.
I tend to clean up after each time and give the sink a rinse with Cif at the end of every day. I like waking up to a clean, empty sink.
Olive oil is great for shining stainless steel.
A tooth brush is good for getting into awkward places like behind taps or the doors of the washing machine or fridge. And using spray cleaner and walking around on a cloth is easier than getting the mop out if the floor only needs a quick going over
I make a cleaning spray that I use for most things. Just a little squeeze of washing up liquid, a glug of vinegar and top up with water in a spray bottle. Easy peasy and cleans worktops, hobs etc well. Bicarb is good sprinkled on for a bit of extra scrubbing power if needed.
For the over I use much the same method as a microwave. Pyrex dish of vinegar solution in the bottom, oven on nice and hot until it steams up then allow to cool to a temperature you can wipe it. NOT completely cold (don't open the door, keep the steam inside!). Most of the grime should have been nice and loosened by the steam and should wipe off pretty easily. Having used both this method and oven pride I don't think there is much difference between the two.
