Whether it’s a Christmas classic or a recently released blockbuster, we want to know what films you’ll be watching at home with the family this winter.

  • Post your film choices in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice

Here’s what FindAnyFilm has to say:

“With so much out there to choose from these days, it can be tough to decide what to cuddle-up and download on a cold December night when the kids are finally in bed, or what DVD to add to the big-shop for your next family film night. The latest research shows that personal recommendations are the reason 83% of people give for picking their next film or TV show to buy or rent, which is why Mumsnet is the perfect place to help you choose what to watch from now until Christmas!”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I agree with vampirethriller - Muppets Christmas Carol is the best family Christmas film ever and we always sing along.

I also love Love Actually.

We enjoy the Nativity films. My children are just old enough to properly watch them through.

Elf and It's a Wonderful Life, once the tree and decorations are up. Elf with the family, IAWL on my own with a glass of port, it's my own christmas tradition. I don't want anyone with me when I'm in Bedford Falls

My teen dc always insist on elf every year - it's a comfort and tradition. They always talk about seeing it at a traditional cinema with interval and ice cream cart and the youngest falling a sleep just before the end.

Got to love a good family Movie Night and for Christmas I'd say Goonies for starter, Miracle on 34th Street for main and it's got to be Elf for dessert!!!!

I watch Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve once all the food prep is done. DS is 3 now and can sit through a film, so will be able to join me in the fun for the first time!

We will also be looking forward to Muppets Christmas Carol for my 4 year old. I think it can sometimes be hard to find something appropriate but this is always a easy winner

Arthur Christmas, we love it. Bill Nighy as Grand Santa is superb. DH and I are also partial to watching Hot Fuzz on Christmas Eve once the kids are in bed, always makes me chuckle.

Home alone. We watched it for the first time two Christmases ago and my two kids loved it. It has since become a Christmas classic.
