This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Takeaways are perfect for those days when cooking up a big family dinner is the last thing you want to think about. After a particularly long day at work or a busy first week back at school, you may feel that your favourite takeaway is needed more than ever. With this in mind, Deliveroo would like to hear about your dream takeaway.

Here’s what Deliveroo has to say: “At the end of the first week back at school, you may feel like treating your family and having their favourite takeaway delivered. That’s why we’re excited to hear about your favourite takeaways and to give 10 of you £50 Deliveroo credit so you can treat your family to a well deserved meal.

But that's not the only way Deliveroo can help with your back to school meal times! You can Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo every Mon-Weds in September. We’re offering £5 off when you spend £20 on delicious food delivered from local restaurants*. So whilst Eat Out to Help Out may have ended, Deliveroo is continuing to support the restaurant industry and you can too (without leaving your home).”

So, we are asking you: If you could order any takeaway to be delivered, what would it be? If you were to use the Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo scheme to order a takeaway, what would you choose? Are you a creature of habit who peruses menus for at least 10 minutes before inevitably deciding you’ll have the same as last time? Or do you like to try a new restaurant each time? Would a takeaway delivery after the first week back free up more time for you to spend as a family, and if so, how would you spend it?

Whether Mexican fajitas, Thai noodles or a classic Italian pizza is the takeaway of your dreams, share below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where 10 lucky MNers will each win £50 credit to spend on Deliveroo (T&Cs apply).

Thanks and good luck!

I would choose pizza from Pizza Express. And dough balls a plenty. It suits the whole family and we are creatures of habit. I could probably list our order without looking at the menu.
I do like to try new things/restaurants and could eat halloumi however it is presented.
I’ve loved eat out to help out but am willing to give eating in a try because I am a big fan of the telly.
Deliveroo has been so handy over lockdown.

I would choose some incredible waffles with avocado and halloumi and falafels and a myriad of sauces from the lovely streetfood stand. My DS is obsessed with them and they are just a bit too expensive (and indulgent) to order often. In fact I would also add one of their sweet ones too - oreo, icecream, nuts, chocolate sauce - the works. Feeling starving now.

A massive katsu curry I love them but only one place round here sells them and I don't know how I'd feel with getting it as a takeaway? It doesn't feel like a takeaway to me that's pizza or burgers 😂

We haven't had Chinese in ages as our favourite place closed. Need to find somewhere new.

I always go for a Wagamamas - vegatsu and bang bang cauliflower. My absolute favourite!

It would have to be pizzas and donuts for us! We aren’t heading back to school this week as my dc are home ed so I would love to treat them to their favourites as none of our usual Not Back to School activities are happening this year.

For the perfect takeaway I’d need to order two. One margharita pizza for fussy peanut allergic DP and for me a chicken pad Thai with a side of chicken satay and maybe also some steamed dumplings or a couple of spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce Grin

We get a regular chinese, very similar each time. When we've tried a different dish, we usually regret it. So creature of habit but always on the lookout for something new!

Winning a voucher, or using the eat in to help out offer would persuade me to try somewhere more expensive than usual. I'm reluctant to try new more expensive things in case they aren't as nice as my usuals!

I'd probably treat us to a pricey option at our usual, or get all the trimmings with an Indian! And our family time is almost always spent on a complicated board game. 4 adults in the house, it can get pretty tense!

I'm hungry now!

I'd get a chicken tikka phall, chilli paneer, black pepper paneer and chilli mogo chips like I used to be able to get when I lived in London Sad garlic naan and samosas. Would leave me enough left overs for breakfast and lunch the next day and would be an epic 24 hours of eating Grin

If I'm being particularly indulgent I'd get a pad Thai and follow that up with a milkshake from my favourite dessert place.

Takeaway of my dreams would be one that cooked my meals to my recipe, for those times when you really fancy something but haven't got the time/energy to make it, and only the exact version you fancy will hit the spot

When it comes to restaurants and takeaways I usually know what I'm having, I try a variety first but when I find something I like I generally stick to it because its a rare treat and I want something I know I'm going to enjoy

It'd have to be a Chinese, prawn toast to start with, followed by sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, chicken chow mein and lemon chicken (there are 4 of us!!), with lots of prawn crackers thrown in for good measure too. Now I'm starving just thinking about it!!

I always get more jobs done in the day when I don't have to think about cooking in the evening!

We menu plan and schedule a takeaway once a week which we all look forward to, it's really boosted our spirits during corona times.

Our current fave is BBQ pork ribs and fries from a local independent restaurant, Smokeworks. Love to support independent businesses and it feels safer right now to get a deliveroo than to go out to a restaurant.

I would definitely have a Chinese - I haven't had one in ages and I always buy enough to last two days.

emphasisofmatter · 01/09/2020 18:40

I'd definitely opt for an Indian curry - a garlic chicken curry would be amazing! I never have Indian takeaway anymore as husband doesn't like it so we always go for Chinese...

I'd have a chinese buffet. I'd specify all the things I wanted and it would come in a bento style box with a separate pudding and ice cream! It's weird but chicken balls and coleslaw are so up my street!

I’d go for a Mexican! Spicy chicken burrito for us (plain for the kids - obvs!) with a side of loaded nachos and churros with chocolate sauce to finish. Am practically drooling now!
Deliveroo please expand delivery areas! I have to drive to my friends 5 mins away to get my orders from you Grin

Sushi for me!

Bella444 · 01/09/2020 18:56

Definitely Greek!

Loads of fluffy pitta breads, every type of dip, salads full of fresh veg and feta, BBQ'd kebabs and marinated octopus and prawns.

Drooling now at my own list 😂

Meant to add, we are creatures of habit though and I'd have to know the restaurant before ordering!

Pretty sure deliveroo don't cover my area still, but five guys or anywhere that does a big, fat bacon and cheese burger

MotherofPiggies · 01/09/2020 19:08

Definitely saag paneer and naan with a chick pea curry side and vege samosas from our local Indian takeaway.

Mine would be something from our local Japanese steakhouse. It wouldn't be quite the same without having the chef prepare it in front of us but I'd be prepared to sacrifice that just to have the food. It's something everyone in the family enjoys.

Perusing menus is probably one of my favourite pastimes 😁 When I know I'm eating out or getting a takeaway I get really excited to browse the menu. I like to try new things but sometimes the old favourites win out 😁

@Sparklfairy 🥵🥵🥵. Wow!!!!

We would probably go for Indian too but a much milder version 🤣. Onion bahjis, tikka paneer, some kind of chicken curry, garlic naan and maybe a lamb dhansak. With nut pilau 😊
