What are your family favourite places to visit in the UK and why? How often do you go there and do you have a favourite time of the year to visit? What makes this place so special to you and your family - a memory you hold dear, or you simply love everything about it? Which UK destination is next on your go-to list or have always wanted to visit in?

Whatever your and your family’s favourite place to visit in the UK is, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Bude! Lovely place to stay in a caravan. Great beaches and lots to do. We go annually with family

Croyde Bay, because it is peaceful and it is where I scattered my husband's ashes, so I like going there to talk to him. I've been going since I was a child, and it was where my husband and I had our first holiday together when our son was a baby. We went at least once a year after that.

I don't love driving so generally only go to places within 2 hours drive. Luckily that's most of Devon and Cornwall for us. Any place with a pool and a beach will do for us.

Betws-y-Coed. It has everything. Beautiful scenery, lovely restaurants, great shops selling local produce, friendly people and a miniature railway. What's not to like?

One of our best holidays was camping in North Wales. Just stunning and glorious weather!

North Wales. Beautiful, family friendly, lovely beaches, loads of activities or endless peace.

Padstow - many a family holiday there growing up. Can't wait to explore with my own DS. For somewhere closer to home we love Norfolk. A holiday with plenty of sea air is the best!

The beaches are lovely, wide open skies, seafood and plenty of National trust properties and zoos.

We love The New Forest as we love the walks, being able to have a day trip to the sea and of course Peppa Pig World. I do have a longing to go back to the Lake District as we used to visit as children but it's a bit far with my little ones at the moment.

Currently at a parkdean holiday park in North Wales. It's beautiful here - so much beautiful scenery, activities for the kids, and peace and quiet when you need it.

Norfolk for us. Great range of wide, Sandy beaches for us all, including the dog- favourites are Wells and Gorleston. Plenty to do, from crab fishing to the Sea Life Centre, leisure pool, Pier and Pleasure Beach in Yarmouth, or Bewilderwood, Dinosaur Adventureland, museums, animal adventure parks, national trust all within easy reach from the coast.

I love the coast! Scotland has some beauties and we enjoyed Durdle Door when in Dorset.

I love so much of the UK, all the places that have been mentioned. I’m going to big up somewhere that doesn’t get much love though, and that’s the Essex coast. Frinton has such a gorgeous beach, and I love Mersea island and all the estuary landscape and salt marshes. My family are from East Anglia as far back as we can see, so I may be genetically obliged to love flat muddy landscapes.

Dorset is lovely and also really enjoyed South Wales.

Druridge bay in Northumberland, gorgeous beach. Lots to do nearby. We’re thinking of booking a Parkdean holiday there in August

The peaks! Bakewell, Matlock, chatsworth it's just all beautiful

I love Edinburgh and Bath for city visits.

The cotswolds when closer to home

RomaineCalm Mon 20-Jul-20 22:12:41

Devon and Cornwall. So many happy memories of family holidays when we were young.

TellMeItsNotTrue Mon 20-Jul-20 22:55:10

We love Nottingham / Sherwood Forest for holidays

Closer to home we enjoy going out to Formby beach with a picnic

Kent is my favourite county for castles, sea, historic attractions and childhood memories. But Cornwall is dashed pretty.

Pimmsypimms Tue 21-Jul-20 09:17:02

Any of the beautiful beaches in Cornwall, it's stunning down there, there's so much to see and do, every day is different.

TamingToddler Tue 21-Jul-20 10:41:08

Anywhere dorset/Devon/Cornwall. Absolutely afore the beach or anywhere outdoors for that matter, but the jurassic coasts are beautiful and with a son very into dinosaurs he loves a good fossil hunt.

Tomatoes123 Tue 21-Jul-20 11:07:35

We are regulars at Cherry Tree near Gorleston. The accommodation and service is always wonderful. The beaches in that area are so under rated. It's definitely our happy place.
