Family skincare tips shared with La Roche-Posay

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

No one in my family changes their skincare routine for different times of the year and everyone seems to manage just fine. Skin is designed to be tough 😁

Sunscreen in the summer is the only real change we make to our routine. Both of my kids have issues with their skin we find not showering too much is important too and using a soap alternative (I know how grim this sounds Grin)

Coconut oil!! On your skin, hair, on sunburn, on dry feet. And a spoonful in your mouth.

I have DS age 12 who is becoming a bit teenager- spotty so we both use La Roche Posay effaclar to wash our faces in the shower, then some pads with salicylic acid on the blackhead areas and then the effaclar moisturiser to finish.

Has made a huge difference to both our skin!

Factor 50 sunblock in Spring and Summer months Whenever outside, not just when it is sunny. Moisturiser and night cream for adults.

Definitely sun cream in the summer. We use quick absorbing e45 cream. We have quite sensitive skin so once we find something that works we stick to it.

We just keep clean (not too clean!), I use witch hazel when my face is a bit greasy and we try to eat a good diet which helps. For dry skin just a cheap aqueous cream

Every now an then I put a couple of drops of baby oil in my bath to help keep my skin nice and soft, When I put it in on my children's bath ( I do not wash their hair as it makes it greasy), When I,m abroad I rub it on my skin after a shower. My mother always put in in my bath once a week.

Apart from keeping our skin clean and using sun cream we don’t do a lot else as a family as a hole. I use cleanser, moisturiser and a night cream, too.

we use sunscreen in summer but our routine stays the same throughout the year except for extra lip balm in summer and winter and hand cream in winter :)

We avoid anything but the most straightforward skin friendly products! Simple soap and aveeno moisturiser mostly. Good sun protection when needed and good moisturising when needed!

We stick to very simple, low allergy products, use ecoeggs or soapnuts in the wash, and use a good sunscreen in summer.

non bio washing powder, still use baby products in the bath even though they are not babies and always use suncream!

Sunscreen in the summer is the only real change we make to our routine. No real skin issues in our household

Rarely I have bought creams, I prefer to make them myself UNLESS they are medicated.

my hero product has been QV wash- its a pump soap dispenser so they can independently help themselves in the bath and its really gentle for sensitive skins. I would consider any product for the family as long as it is gentle and as pure as possible (we are allergic to lanolin and sensitive to various products). Our other essential for the kids other than good spray to apply sun screen has been lip balm- my daughter seems to get chapped lips really easily throughout the winter and I give her a chapstick to take in her school bag to hep prevent this

Simple, unperfumed for my ten year old with excema and the same works for me.

We always cover up in the sun but use suncream suitable for sensitive skin when we need to.
