The prize draw for this activity has now closed.

Most people spend their time counting down the days until their family holiday as soon as the flights and accommodation are booked. Family holidays give us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but most importantly allow us to let loose and have fun. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who heads for the biggest slide at the waterpark or perhaps your idea of fun is basking in the sun at the poolside with a good book in hand. With this in mind, TUI wants to hear about your most fun family holiday.

Here’s what TUI have to say: “At TUI, we know that your family holiday is a time to reconnect and have fun. That’s why we’ve designed hotels especially for families to make it the best week, or two, of the year. From allowing you to take your car seat or pushchair with you free of charge, to offering baby changing facilities, kids’ clubs and children’s buffets in resort, we’ve thought of every little detail to give you a hassle free and family-friendly holiday. We’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about their favourite holiday moments with their family.”

If you were asked to name one family holiday that is most memorable to you as being “fun”, what would you say and why? What type of holiday do you feel you can get the most fun out of? Would you rather spend your time in good company, basking in the good weather or eating good food? What kind of activities do you do to make memories with your children on holiday? Perhaps you all jump into the pool the second you arrive at the resort? Or maybe you’d rather go on a family excursion to see the local sights and scenery?

Tell us about your most fun family holiday on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Our first holiday abroad to Majorca with DS.. we were newbies to the all inclusive idea and kept saying to each other “I can’t believe there’s so much food!!”. It was a lovely carefree holiday with lots of time spent by the baby pool!

We always enjoyed gîte holidays in France. We always found some little out-of-the-way restaurant to enjoy our family meals. One was based on a duck farm, and every course (apart from dessert) was duck. Not only were the four of us (including our very young children) given an enormous platter of duck paté (which we prepared to sample and then pass to another table, before realising every table had one), but there were plenty of dogs allowed in with their owners, and more animals around the farm. Once they had eaten each course, our children deserted us for other tables and exciting pets! In another fun restaurant, Clare (seven ?) called over the waiter (I can’t do that!), and, without telling us what she was doing, asked for her drinking-straw to be changed, as she didn’t like the colour. And in French too!

Our most fun holiday was a simple trip to the seaside where we stayed in a caravan. Ds had just been diagnosed with autism (aged 3 at the time) and we all needed a break. We spent the days either in the arcades or on the beach paddling in the sea. Ds loved the sea so much that we ended up walking back along it every day after dinner and many times he’d just run into it fully clothed. The sense of freedom was amazing.

This was a family holiday with my best friend and her little girl.
We booked a dream holiday to the holiday village aliathon.
My Typical holiday was bed and breakfast lots of tours and eating out but as we had a 3 year old in tow we decided to go all inclusive with the added benefit of apartment facilities encase the toddler craves a home
Cooked meal and we could have snacks to hand

It was just stunning, the experience was amazing we didn’t really tour as well the kid wouldn’t like it but I honestly wasn’t board once
So many fun activities for the kids and us adults got to get stuck in too which was so much fun ( my inner child was thrilled )
The pool was stunning and we all had much fun pretending to be pirates on the pirate ship ( she only want once she is now 10 years old but she still remembers that part of the holiday )
There was an awesome puppet show at night and a disco for the little one where we got to have a couple of drinks and a boogie ( to the gummy bear song )
All the staff were so friendly m
And the food oh my god bbqs for lunch by the pool the buffet was stunning for dinner you could pick what you wanted lots of
Local as well as U.K. based food and the quality was not impacted I couldn’t have had better in a restaurant
It was the perfect combination of family fun with adult only bits to the point i went back with just my mum a few years later ... she never did all inclusive before and she was blown away.

Not had a holiday abroad in a long time but now I have my own child ( only 1 year atm ) hoping to save up to treat him to this amazing experience in the future.
Best holiday ever

I have great memories of holidays on the Kent coast. We used to go to a guest house year after year. The beach was across a stones track in front of the guest house and we would spend all day on the beach.
I loved my dad digging sand sculptures for us to sit in as the tide came in.

We went on a ski holiday in Colorado. There was so little snow that we hired a car and had a road trip instead taking in some of Utah's national parks. From temperature extremes of mountains and deserts we had an unexpected exploration of some fab terrains.

The most fun family holiday we had was when we used to go camping in the South of France, the facilities and weather were great, lots of games and it felt like such an adventure

Our recent holiday to SArdinia was great as our room was tiny but we had a lovely outdoor area so spent every night together playing games and talking with no phones/tech to distract everyone. Very rewarding time.

Sadly we didn't have much spare cash so we tended to have staycations but often spent a few days with family. As a child I enjoyed skiing holidays the best

Fun activities always stick in my mind but rather than one particular holiday I like to think about various parts from various holidays! Playing in dingys in a river or in the sea in the uk. In Turkey we went on canoe trips and microlighting and parascending! Great experiences! But then you can have fun building sandcastles too!

Returning to the same holiday village for the last three years means that the feeling of family goes beyond just us. The owners know us by name and other guests return so it's like a big family every year. Its in southern Italy and my children are comfortable with everything that happens which, when they are small is so important!

We had a great extended family holiday for my grandma's 90th birthday - we all rented a house in Norfolk and spent time all together walking the dogs on the beach, eating together and playing board games - all ages enjoyed it.

Our most fun family holiday was in Crete. My husband, me and our four boys joined my sister, her husband and their daughter.
Being with family made it extra special and loads more fun.

The most fun we have had was a caravan holiday in Yorkshire, there was so much to see and do. I've kept the Yorvik Viking museum ticket in case we go back this year (It allows free reentry for up to a year!)

Has to be Florida. It has everything for us - world class theme parks, amazing beaches and great food. Most fun we have is at the waterparks which we love. Cabana Bay was the most fun place we ever stayed - absolutely loved it.

Every year we went to Butlins as a kid, it was the best and we enjoyed it so much. I have followed in my mums footsteps and have been taking my little girl for the past 2 years. She loves it!
