In the hot summer season, we are faced with the inevitable dilemma - what summer shoes to go for in order to stay stylish and comfortable at the same time. When it comes down to finding the right ones for you and your family, it might take a while to find a love at first step. As you’ll probably have a few shoe decisions to make this summer, FitFlop want to know what your must-haves are for the summer season.

I wear primark's most bare sandals I can find, they last surprisingly well, are really comfy and don't leave much in the way of tan lines

With my fallen arches I haven't been able to wear a decent pair of sandals in years. Sure, there are Birkenstock sandals, but all the ones with a back strap look like heavy, grandmotherly orthotic sandals. This year I found a lovely pair with thin straps. Soooooo happy!

In the summer I am all about the flatform sandal! A bouncy, thick sole means your feet don't get as sore as they do in normal flip flops. They are bang on trend too. I wear mine with culottes or a midi skirt.

I live in my knock off converse through summer, I need shoes that can keep up with walking the dog during dusk and dawn but are still comfortable to wear chasing round DS in. I've never found a pair of sandals that can keep up with the routine without getting ruined, although I quite like the look of those TIA sandals, so I might try them out and see if they last.

So far I have been wearing my trusty Timberland sandals. Appropriate for work and very comfy!
As off this week I am off, though, in old Birkenstock’s and looking for something a bit more fun and beachy.
Havaianas last year were a total disaster - I lasted exactly 5 minutes and my feet were shredded! Just had a peek at the Fitflop website (when will I learn???) and somehow the IQUSHIONS found their way into my shopping basket.

For me it's all about a pair of simple lightweight white trainers - can be worn with skirts and dresses and jeggings throughout the day with the support needed for busy feet :)

I've just been treated to a pair of fit-flop sandals for my birthday from my kids. I had been on the hunt for a pair of sandals that could be worn all day walking and still look nice with a dress in the evenings. Sure I could have brought more than one pair on holidays but who really has the luggage space for that right? I was certain I needed Skechers as everyone told me they're great for walking. After having tried on every pair I could find, I had given up hope. My needs were simple, able to wear all day, able to go for walks and excursions, slingback (odd feet that can't hold skies on lol), no toe posts, and able to be worn dressed up too. Found a great pair in the prime day sale reduced from £70 to £28 and they're now never off my feet. Well worth the £28. Just wish I could have gotten the gold pair too as only the black sparkle were reduced but maybe if I win this I can but them too.

I have fibromyalgia and the soles of my feet often ache. I find wearing shoes with not a lot of sole painful ie Converse. I bought my first pair of FitFops 3 years ago I’ve got them on just now, just black strappy sandals. Well they are amazing, so comfortable on my feet. I bought a second pair last year white sparkly toe-posts this time, get a lot of comments about them. Even wore them walking a lot in NYC recently and my feet were happy. I’m a convert, I love my Fitfops

I just got this pair to go with summer dresses and shorts as I don't get on well with sandals. I've converted to fitflops recently as I've had nerve pain shoot up from my feet like an electrical shock and was advised to wear insoles for padding and arch support. But I found the shape of fitflops works equally well.

As a martyr to plantar fasciitis I struggle finding comfortable sandals. I’ve got a much loved pair of Clark’s Orla Kieltys from a few years ago which are still comfortable but really not fit for public view (and are starting to pong). In desperation I’ve taken to wearing a pair of DS’s M&S Velcro jobs that he’s grown out of, but I really need something sufficiently respectable to wear to the pub after work.

Seriously considering the FitFlop snakeskin Barelys - they look like they’d fit the bill.

I may be your biggest fan Fitflop! I developed plantar fascitis about 10 years ago and finding Fitflops was a godsend - they were both very comfortable and sparkly!

I now have a very extensive collection of Fitflop boots, shoes, ballerinas, sandals, slippers and actual flip-flops.

If I wear them all the time I have very little plantar fascitis pain. I also find them really good value as they last a long time.

These are lovely for later in the year at the moment I’m living in my sparkly fit flops. I absolutely love these shoes they were the only shoes I could wear after surgery and I can comfortably walk for miles in them.

Must haves for me are comfortable sandals, usually flat, for dry day to day wear. A smarter pair for going out, usually mid heels and finally a pair of trainers for wet days. Think that covers it.

My feet are freezing most of the year, so I'm still happy wearing my rocket dog pumps until it gets stupidly warm, at which point I can comfortably wear flip flops or walk around barefoot.

It's really hard finding good summer shoes - not that finding summer ones is any harder than finding shoes for the winter. Finding shoes is just hard. I want my shoes to look dainty and retro, but have a bit of substance/padding in the sole - and that's a very difficult thing to find. I don't get on with sandals because the straps always rub, so I wear shoes, always. Last year I found some suede slip-on flatties with a rubber sole, by Lotus, and since it's so rare to find anything, I got seven pairs. These are the nicest ones on the Fit Flops site, I think:

I tend to buy sandals from Clarks but they don't last more than a year or so. I wear them to death! What I really want are comfy and hard wearing sandals. Haven't found them yet.

For summer, my sandles have to be leather, have comfy soles and insoles ideally with a bit of spring in them, and be versatile looking to go with many different outfit styles.

There are some really nice shoes there - I thought FitFlop only did sports sandals!

My main criteria for summer shield a closed toe and heel, or at least a heel strap. More practical, and easier to drive in.

I have to have closed toes for work and need them to be flat but not too flat as I am on my feet all day. This year I have failed to find any suitable ones.
Outside of work I live in gladiator sandals. Nice and flat but hold my foot in for chasing the toddler and driving.

Normal I go for a new look sandal - I like a back strap and a toe divid. However, I picked up a pair of flip flops on Sunday in Tesco with no back strap and plastic toe divid. Already regretting it. Would love a pair of the fitflop sandals they look super comfy without looking like grandma shoes.

I have to say I live in fitflops all year round. After having plantar fasciitis I discovered they were the only shoes which kept me comfy, from my leather boots in winter, to my Uber knit sneakers, my slippers and my million pairs of sandals! Love summer sandals but have bought too many pairs I can't walk far in. Priorities now are a medium or low heel, soft leather and definitely no toe peg. For work there needs to be a strap, outside work I like bright colours. I wear Birkentock Arizona floral pattern as slippers year round.
