No doubt, at some point in our lives, we’ve all been asked ‘What is your dream job?’. For many of us, the answer we gave probably isn’t the career we’ve ended up doing. The Open University would like to know which course you would study to help you achieve your dream job.

Maybe you’ve always dreamed of doing a particular job and you know there are courses that would help you to achieve it. Perhaps you’re already in the career you want but hope to move up to the next level? Or there is a course you’re really interested in taking and then you could visualise a career from there?

We’ve partnered with The Open University so that they can help MNers discover the range of courses and qualifications available. Take a look on their website here.

Here’s what The Open University has to say: "Every year, 1000’s of students from all walks of life enrol with The OU to develop new skills and boost their career prospects. With a wide range of subjects and qualifications that have no formal entry requirements, you can achieve your dream career with our flexible courses. Fit study around your life, your family, work and other commitments and get ongoing support from our expert tutors and student services team."

Simply post The OU course you would choose to study and the career of your dreams on the thread below to enter the prize draw. One lucky winner will receive a £300 voucher of their choice provided by Mumsnet (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw.

Unfortunately OU doesn't offer the course I would love to do, as its dental practice related. I already work in this field but would love to retrain as something slightly different. The course however, is quite few and far between so not accessible to me right now.

I desperately want to do an MA in Art History and work in museum curation. Not a chance financially at the moment, but some day hopefully!

I have worked in the health care industry before and loved the diversity of the people. I feel I would like to move into mental health nursing and this course would really be useful ....BSc (Honours) Mental Health Nursing. I have seen too many people 'drop through the net' and I would love the skills to help them.

As I have always loved all things 'astral' the MSc in Space Science and Technology sounds amazing, as a post graduate (several years ago) I could be eligible for a loan of up to £10,909 as a contribution towards the cost of study fees and expenses - according to the website - which is such a help.
It would be my dream job to work in this field.

Foundation Degree in Counselling- I’ve contemplated it for a number of years but have never taken the plunge. It would build on previous work and I’d love to do it!

I would really love to do the OU MBA course. I can't squeeze it into my life or finances at the moment but I do have my eye on it if things ease up in the future

My trouble is that I've never known what I want to do. I'd love to try my hand at creative writing - not sure if the OU offers anything in this kind of line?

I would love to do Paramedical Sciences and End Of Life Care. I love the different Health Care Courses the OU offers, I am even tempted to look into Forensic Science and see what that entails.

Another one who has been looking at the OU's Creative Writing courses for a while. Sadly, though, can't justify the costs just for my fantasy other life!

Linguistics all the way.

I would absolutely love a career in forensic linguistics. Either that or something pathology related!

I would love to have the money and the time to do CIPD level 5. Unfortunately I missed out on the chance when I left my old job but hopefully one day when my little one is older I'll get the chance.
