This activity is now closed

After years of probably having to watch all sorts of wonderful and occasional strange children’s TV shows, it’s hard to not ending up having favourites...whether you love them in secret or not.]] would like to know which children’s shows you are more than happy to watch with your DC and why they’ve become your favourite.

Here’s what ]] have to say: “Now it’s the summer holidays, more and more families are streaming children’s shows such as Shaun The Sheep, My Little Pony, The Penguins of Madagascar and Just Add Magic. It’s great when you find a show that you can enjoy that works for both child and parent, and we would love to know what these shows are for you and your family.”

Has Dora the Explorer been an all-time favourite of yours for years because you end up learning things too? Perhaps you love trying to figure out who the baddy is in Scooby-Doo along with your DC? Maybe seeing Tom & Jerry on the screen always brings back some great nostalgic memories of when you were a child? Or do you love Postman Pat purely for the great theme tune?

Whatever your favourite children’s programme is, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

I like Sarah and Duck. It’s very sweet.

Bitz and Bob on CBeebies is great too, lots of fun science stuff on that.

I like Bing just for what it's helping teach my little girl

I love Ben and Holly. Dd has gone off it though so I havent watched it for ages unfortunately. I love all the adult jokes that go over the kids heads and the exasperated Nanny Plum.

I like watching Mia & Me, My little pony, Yakari, Spirit - riding free, Horseland, Blippi 🙈, then there's lots of programmes I'd like to watch but my kids don't like them such as Gruffalo!
Also lots & lots of films I like such as Spirit - stallion of cimarron, happy feet, pretty much all the Disney etc. I just really like kids TV I guess 😆

I used to love (still do) Shaun the Sheep but we've moved past that now. They don't seem to watch much in the way of kids programmes any more, its all motor racing and athletics, or games on the tablet but Octonauts comes on sometimes and is bearable.

I love love love Hey Duggee Grin Thankfully DS does too

The only thing is I can't take Alexander Armstrong seriously anymore. Everytime I see him I expect him to say "Didn't the squirrels do well today Duggee" Blush

Fireman Sam!
It's just a great show. Good length. Good themes. All around the least annoying show. Will be sad when they grow out of it, lol.

I love Sarah and Duck, so much so that I often watch it after my daughter has gone to bed!

I also love Hey Duggee, and it's not even a secret.
My kids are miles too old for it, but they appreciate it too.

There are loads! Love Waffle the Wonderdog - I often break into a loud rendition of the theme song. Pablo is very sweet. Horrible Histories is fab and just the kind of thing I liked like. Lego Ninjago when it's being silly. Hey Duggee is a given. 😊

Another vote for Sarah and Duck here. Lots of whimsy and in jokes, but sometimes just moments that catch you by surprise. There’s an episode where Sarah’s neighbours the Ribbon Sisters disappear off with the circus and Sarah and Duck don’t get to say goodbye. His nibs from The Thick of It who does the narration intones something along the lines of: “Sometimes we don’t get to say goodbye to people we love, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know we love them and are thinking of them and that we wanted to.” The first time I saw it I ended up with a massive lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.

Also, they do so much bloody merchandise, why can’t we just have a Bag bag for life, so that all of us who love the show can recognise each other in Tesco dammit?!

Love Hey Duggee for its warmth, and Octonauts for the mild tension and sea life facts.

Waffle Doggie! Waffle Doggie! You're such a dog, such a clever dog you are!

Or, as my 19mo puts it: "Baboo Doggie! Baboo Doggie!"

Horrible Histories is very good. Quite enjoy the Dengineers too - an addition to my property programme viewing!
My Little Pony is very sweet as well.
