Clothes shopping can be both a pleasure and chore, depending on where you’re shopping and who you’re shopping for! Especially if you’re looking for something nice for a fussy DC. Ted Baker would love you to share your favourite piece from their kidswear range, as well as letting us know which qualities you look for when selecting clothing for you and your DC.

Here’s what Ted Baker has to say: “Ted’s new kidswear collection is designed for little scamps of all ages, from bouncing babies to older boys and girls developing a passion for fashion. With a focus on bright, beautiful colours and stylish prints, B by Ted Baker will ensure your little one is the best dressed in the playground, with practical finishing touches for easier adventures (and machine washable fabrics for easier cleaning!). Whether it’s the perfect party look or something stylish for every day, Ted has thought of an outfit for every occasion.”

Which items caught your eye and why? Check the website and post a link to your faves on the thread below.

We would also love to know what you look for when out clothes shopping for yourself or your DC? Maybe your main concern is for durability and ensuring that those jeans last through numerous knee-slides? Perhaps it’s price? Or finding an outfit that fits perfectly? Do you have a seasonal colour scheme that you stick to religiously, or are you much more interested in comfort?

Tell us which qualities you look for in the ideal outfit, as well as posting a link to your favourite item from the Ted Baker kidswear range and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Ted Baker voucher. Ted Baker will also be giving 3 MNers the chance to win their favourite kidswear item!

Thanks and good luck!

DS is a sucker for a floral shirt like his hero James May, so he’d like this Hawaiian number.
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/MINYMUS-Tropical-leaf-cotton-shirt-White/p/151950-WHITE

As a parent of a boy and a girl with absconding tendencies my top tip for dressing young children is to pick bright primary colours because they’re unisex and can be handed down, and they’re easy to pick out in a crowd.

My 4 month old DD looks beautiful in soft floral, so www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Baby/MATELDA-Cotton-romper-and-hat-set-White/p/151873-WHITE would be perfect.

As she's little, I go for comfort first, and this Romper looks nice and soft.

We're going on holiday soon, so I'll definitely buy this outfit, perfect for sunny days out! ☀️

I love this jumpsuit and think it would look great on my daughter.
http://www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY
My children like to choose their own clothes but I try to steer them towards affordable and practical clothes that they will get the wear out of. Sometimes not that easy!! Confused
What a fantastic prize - good luck everyone. Smile

I actually love these for dd

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/BESTE-Belted-cotton-chinos-Light-Grey/p/151954-LT-GREY

I’d buy a size smaller and roll them up so her ankles were on show - team with boat shoes, plain vest & fedora... dd loves this look, she definitely prefers comfort!
She has many pretty ted baker dresses/skirts too, but she’d much rather be able to be comfortable and tumble about!

We often buy ted baker actually because we love the quality, they’re my go-to for baby gifts and I always pass my dd’s clothes down to do another child or two!

My ten year old likes to be smart and grown up, but loves a bit of colour!
I'd like clothes to be good quality to pass down to his younger brother, who loves a polo shirt!

I love the chareta jumpsuit
www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY
It's hard to find something stylish that's age appropriate - I'm no prude but a lot of clothes for young girls are quite sexy looking. My DD11 isn't into dresses but this jumpsuit would be a great alternative.
I always look for items with adjustable waistbands in trousers, shorts or skirts as my two DC are quite lean round the middle.

I really love this dress: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/MIRINIA-Printed-cut-out-skater-dress-Pink/p/151844-PINK

My daughter likes lovely clothes and is quite opinionated about what she wears at 4, but also likes to have fun and get messy and scoot. So what I really like are clothes that look lovely and bright and appealing, but which are also practical - soft cotton t- shirt dresses, leggings in bright colours, nice skirt and t-shirt sets. Even if we are going somewhere special, I like her to feel comfortable and able to play.

I liked some of the bright colours in the boys clothes too. Don’t like being faced with a load of brown sludgy coloured clothes when choosing boys clothes.

Love the cotton rompers- especially this one www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/SHUNSHI-Striped-cotton-romper-Assorted/p/151914-ASSORTED

I much prefer unisex babyware - better for handing down/around- especially if they're good quality pieces like this - so it would be nice to see a unisex baby collection!

I love the little jacket - smart but practical in one: www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/PEPPAP-Pull-out-hood-panelled-jacket-Navy/p/151944-NAVY

With a small wriggly almost toddler, I look for things that are comfortable, easy and quick to get on and off for nappy changes, and absorb weaning stains/dribble marks!

Love this polo and dungaree set for my 20month old son:

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Boy/DORAR-Cotton-polo-and-dungarees-set-Navy/p/151916-NAVY

When buying clothes it's quality, comfort and versatility I look for. Something that will wash well and last, is super comfy and soft (no labels that rub!) and items that will go easily with the rest of my son's wardrobe.

This TB outfit set is great as you can use the polo with shorts or trousers and the dungaree with other tops as well as using them together as their intended set!

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Girls/CALANTI-Cotton-dress-and-headband-set-Yellow/p/152153-YELLOW
With my daughter at the moment it has to be a dress, although she loves pink I know she will love this yellow dress, because of the birds and butterflies. Because of her skin tone bright colours really suit her.

Easy wash is vital and with the weather being so changeable it would be great to have a range of dresses that come in a set with a cardigan or cover up of some sort in a perfect matching shade.

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/LADIN-Stretch-cotton-jeans-Dark-Blue/p/151953-DK-BLUE

I have a DS who is not into how clothes look at all- its all about the comfort! He would just be in tracksuit bottoms 24/7 if he could- which is fine until we go to a party or a smart family occasion.
Then everything I suggest is just too stiff and he doesn’t feel he can run about in it and we get miserable face!

These look perfect as they are stretch fabric but a denim look and feel. Smart enough for occasion wear but comfortable enough to still be a kid in.

Look for comfort and durability, but like something cute and stylish and will consider something a little more pricey if really special.

I love this one shouldered jumpsuit for dd

tedbaker jumpsuit

I love buying nice clothes for her, but sometimes well made pieces aren't all that practical. DD likes to roll around in the dirt so we tend to stick to darker colours and things that allow her to move around in them easily.

She's getting more image conscious as she gets older, and we love for her to be able to express herself through her clothes whilst fitting in with her peers -but with a very heavy emphasis on age-appropriateness.

I absolutely love this for dd for a wedding she's got coming up www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Older-Girls/CHARETA-One-shoulder-jumpsuit-Navy/p/151859-NAVY

I try to go for clothes that are hard wearing and good quality, stylish but still age appropriate. Dd12 is obsessed with brands and what's 'cool'

Choosing just one favourite item it's extremely difficult as Ted Baker always has outstanding pieces but...
if I have to set my heart on only one item then I would go for the NARNYA Cotton bomber jacket:

www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Boys/NARNYA-Cotton-bomber-jacket-Navy/p/151955-NAVY

Looks very trendy and the fabric looks outstanding when you do the close up. That's a lovely statement piece for young boy, who is trying to look a bit older (as you do in that age 😜)

When I shop for myself or my children I never have any specific criteria I just have to fell in love with it 😂 and I do that far to often.
A perfect outfit for me is stylish, full of character, smart/elegant and if doesn't require a lot of ironing then I am very happy 😊

The Martizi yellow romper caught my eye! Such beautiful vibrant colours.
http://www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/All-Baby/MARTIZI-Cotton-romper-and-hat-set-Yellow/p/151872-YELLOW
My main concern for buying children’s clothes is price. My daughter is only 6 months and shoots through baby clothing sizes like a weed growing so I don’t want to pay ridiculous amounts for something she may possibly only wear a few times. As she grows and the sizes last longer I’m definitely more interested in durability and value for money.

It has to be www.tedbaker.com/uk/Kids/Baby-Girl/LARIZA-Skater-dress-White/p/151841-WHITE because it would match the selder tie I'm getting for my new ted baker suit and me and my daughter would look great together.

As for what I want from my clothes, if it's ted baker it has to be the floral (mainly the cherry blossom) themes. But comfort is the most important thing. I have to feel as good wearing it as it looks being worn.
