Receiving a card - be it for your birthday, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Father Days or Easter - that has been specially made just for you can be both heartwarming and humorous...especially if you have a young DC who writes the first thing that comes to their minds. So Card Factory would love you to share the best/funniest personalised cards you’ve ever received.
Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “We know how important finding the right card can be when it comes to celebrating all of life’s moments. This is why we have put together a fab, exclusive range of personalised cards from only 99p! Made and designed by us – with those finishing touches added by you - get great quality without breaking the bank.”
Did a loved one root out some really old and perhaps slightly embarrassing photos of you to plaster all over the card? Maybe your DC wrote a message that was hilariously unfiltered but oh so sweet? Or have you ever received a card that brings back so many great memories every time you read it?
Add your comment to the thread below and everyone will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).
Thanks and good luck!

Don't think I've ever received a personalised card in my life...
An old university friend managed to dig out some wild photos when we all dressed up and posed decades ago. He made a big collage of them. Was lovely.
My favourite personalised card was from a good friend of mine.
It was black/white/retro and said something about snotato liking wine a lot and ending up on the floor.
It doesn’t sound that funny, but when I opened it I couldn’t stop laughing.
Me and my brother used to send rubbish cards to each other, so whatever awful naff ones we could find in the shops. Then one year he said he'd got me the best rubbish card ever. It was an actual picture of a rubbish dump
I moved house and my lovely friend put together a card which was done like the front of Hello! magazine and used photos of us all with headlines. It was a really nice touch and we have kept hold of it.
A personalised card from Moonpig, my name was spelled wrongly as shaton instead of sharon.
I have an early Mother's Day card addressed to Mummmy which always makes me smile!
I had valentine card from my now husband which had a picture of an actual (real with arteries and all) heart
on it. I've kept that one.
When I was pregnant, I wanted the sex of the baby to be revealed, but my husband didn't, so we didn't find out, but on Mother's Day before my baby was born, I received a personalised card in the post addressed to 'Mummy', and on the card was a picture of the scan and the words 'It's a BOY!' along with a blue balloon that popped out of a box with blue confetti!
It was so sweet and lovely, and apparently he had planned it all along to surprise me.
My friend sent me a Birthday card addressed to 'Herin' instead of my real name which is Erin. I know it doesn't sound that funny but it made me giggle at the time. X
For my last birthday my sister gave me a card which simply said "name, you are a bright & beautiful star and don't you forget it" and it meant so much to me after a rough few years. I've kept it sitting out in my bedroom and every time I look at it, I think of my sister and smile
The best cards I've received are the ones from my DC. They do some wonderful elaborate drawings!
And my DS has just started learning to write so the card for my last birthday had the word 'poo' scrawled in it!!!!
Only received one personalised one - of DDog with her doggy bf - it was so cute and only card I've ever kept 😄
I received a handmade birthday card from an ex with a German pornographic playing card stuck to the front. He did have a weird / dark sense of humour though
The nicest card I had was made by my then three year old. Mother’s Day card in the shape of a cup and saucer with a tea bag taped to the inside, decoration by small person with the help of her nursery carer. It was a proper brew too!!
My mum found some horrendous photos of me to put on a card for my wedding day- double chins, horrendous outfits.. and it was like a cover from 'ok' with 'congratulations'.. soooo embarrassing!
the best card i have received was from my little girl who made a booklet with sweet messages on each page. i found it the other day and had a giggle
Every year for their birthdays I give my children a personalised birthday card of photos of their last year - it’s a lovely reminder of the big events of the past year and a lovely memento to keep.
I also enjoy going through my photos to pick out the ones that make on to the card
When I was homesick at uni because it was Diwali and I didn’t know anyone celebrating it, one of my good friends made a beautiful card for me. It was so sparkly and in keeping with the whole feeling of Diwali. I was so touched and it’s still one I’ve held onto 15 years later.
For mother’s day last year DP and his children made an amazing photo collage card filled with pictures of all the things we had done together that year. I still love looking for at it, in fact it’s still on the bookshelf.
Received a personalised card from DH on our 2nd wedding anniversary with a collage of photos from our wedding day, song with a large bunch of flowers. It was lovely and so kind of him as he isn’t romantic at all but Our first wedding anniversary was spent with me in the depths of all day ‘morning’ Sickness and I couldn’t even get out of bed. I’ve kept it
My sister makes the best personalised cards. She remembers the funniest bits of our childhood and is great at repeating them pictorially. Love it.
Sadly I've never had a personalised card but I haven't sent any either I'm afraid I tend to go for the budget options!
