Christmas can be a time to be with family, indulge in all your favourite foods, share gifts and have some well needed relaxation. However it can also be quite hectic, particularly within the kitchen all that food has to be stored and cooked somewhere! With that being said, AO want you to share how you get your kitchen ready for the Christmas period.

Here’s what AO have to say: “At AO we’ve got Christmas wrapped up, helping take the stress out of the festive season. We know that Christmas is more than the decorations and the presents, your home has to be ready too. Don’t risk a kitchen disaster when you're elbow deep in sprouts and cranberry sauce!

So deck your kitchen out with our fantastic deals. Think large capacity ovens and cookers for the BIGGEST turkey and all the trimmings, fridge freezers for stocking up on all those snacks and drinks and dishwashers to make that post-Christmas clean up a dream. You can even buy now and pay nothing for 12 months on selected appliances, so you can cook, toast and feast to your heart’s content.

When you shop with AO, you can rest assured we'll make it easy for you, with 1000s of appliances to choose from, delivered and installed in time for the big day. So you can concentrate on planning the best Christmas, ever!”

Do you decorate your kitchen to give it a Christmassy feel? Perhaps you have an ‘eat up everything in the fridge’ dinner to clear some space for the Christmas food? Maybe you buy extra kitchen utensils to ensure you’re not short of anything on the big day?

Whatever you do to get your kitchen prepared for Christmas, post it on the thread below and every MNer who posts will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will randomly selected to receive a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

We literally eat everything in the freezer to make room for the Christmas food. So if that means eating party sausages for dinner, we do it!

I love decorating every room at Christmas to make it feel a bit special! For Christmas I put some mistletoe above the kitchen door and fairy lights by the window above the sink! X

I put on a Christmas oil cloth table cloth for a start. I am currently decluttering each of my cupboards and buying stock cupboard things and baking ingredients ready for the big month. All the tops of the cupboards will be cleaned so that some beautiful fresh greenery can be artfully draped.

Defrost the freezer. Make sure the oven is cleaned out. Maybe, if I'm feeling very virtuous, clean the fridge.

I try and use up stuff in the freezer so that I can buy frozen stuff for Christmas in advance. I also find new hiding places for the mini stollens Smile

The oven has an annual professional clean so it is ready for the occasion! November is generally a month of eating through the cupboard and freezer stocks. Christmas oven gloves and tea towels come out for December!

We definitely try to eat up food in the freezer to make space for Christmas food. We also try and tidy/clean up a bit, because it's a bit of a mess normally!! No decorations really though.

Oh, actually, we are putting the christmas tree in there this year so maybe it will look a little bit festive after all.

We decorate the kitchen (table cloth, runner, placemats, small christmas tree, wall decorations) and I get every single gadget I own out ready for the epic Christmas Day feast (instant pot, slow cooker, steamer, actifrier, pie maker, etc) I only have a small oven so I make do with what I’ve got. We also bought the dishwasher originally because I couldn’t stand the thought of cleaning up Christmas dishes once again!

We have festive cake tins, dinnerware, a tablecloth, oven gloves etc! I also have a Christmassy apron, which I wear for baking in and I always buy a poisetta for the kitchen windowsill!

We try to run down the freezer ready for all the Christmas food, I also like to do a lot of baking in preparation for the festive period, ok I do go a bit overboard with Christmas decorations its only once a year so why not!

I don't really decorate the kitchen although there's usually something hanging in the doorway. I make sure the fridge and freezer are as empty as possible prior to buying the bulk of the food shopping and I have the usual assortment of Christmas glasses, plates, serving platters etc that come out at this time.

Definitely clear out the freezer in Oct/Nov to make way for Xmas goodies. As for decorating the kitchen, not really, probably a few little hanging decorations but not a lot. The Xmas food will be more than enough to make it Christmassy.

Glittery christmas moose head goes on the wall, kids make paper snowflakes for the windows. None of this tasteful and understated stuff here.

Christmas is so special that having the same roast every year is not what we do. We have something special and expensive, but different every year. And, as we don't have turkey, we don't need to do the shopping until the week before. If we find anything earlier, we have an old freezer in the garage to fill!

I don't decorate the kitchen as it's cluttered enough! But I do use up food in freezer in the weeks before to make room.

I always do a mad organise, clear out and clean before Christmas so that my kitchen is an easy and pleasant space to work in. The only decorating I do is to hang up a traditional (pictures only) advent calendar for me! The children have chocolate ones (even the grown up ones - I always send one wherever he is in the world)

I tend to tidy up the kitchen and make sure I have the right storage items needed for mince pies, Christmas cake etc. I put fairy lights up in the kitchen and my kids make snowflakes which I stick to the windows so it does feel quite Christmassy in there once this is done especially once the mulled wine and mince pies are on the go!
