It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I decided I wanted to cut down on my spending this year and resolved to buy no new clothes. I've been tempted a few times looking at online sales but managed to resist so far!

No spending on make up and toiletries hasn't done quite so well, I got drawn into a few sales and things ended up in my basket Blush.

I was going to walk min 10,000 steps every day, which would then increase.
Erm, I haven't.

I'm trying to get out walking more to justify eating cake while on mat leave! I'm making progress but could do better.

I decided that my resolution was to remain unresolved. That's going splendidly so far.

Very well. And by "very well" I mean I have failed miserably already.

I was supposed to stop drinking alcohol altogether. This has 'relaxed' somewhat into just drinking on a Friday & Saturday, which I've stuck to. I'm finding that because I'm drinking less I can't tolerate it so well and when I do drink it's making me feel quite unwell, so I'm drinking less each weekend. So in a roundabout way I'm getting there!

My resolution was to get up and walk the 10 minutes to the supermarket instead of jumping in the car and so far, it's going quite well. Apart from the days it's chucking it down, I've managed every time (except for when it's a big shop).
Surprise myself sometimes!

Easy, as I don't make any new years resolutions

I was going to improve my already healthy eating in order to shift half a stone for Valentines day.......I did better at Christmas time than I've done this last few days - I blame the cold weather!

I wanted to reduce the amount we spend on groceries and cook from scratch more. So far so good. It's amazing just how much money you can spend on the weekly shop when you're not thinking about it.

Not great. The plan was, as usual, to start another diet. But then I wasn't well, and we had family visiting, and it's just not that easy. I will start soon though!

I drink a lot of tea and I have cut down on the sugar from 2 teaspoons to one and it's still going well. Strangely enough I can hardly tell any difference in the sweetness and I do wonder about myself piling in all that extra sugar over the years. ..... So, happiness is ... less sugar. :)

Work still in progress!
