Watch House of Cards Series 2 with Mumsnet and you could win an Xbox One (possible spoiler warning!)

After Mumsnetters enjoyed the first series so much, we’re excited to announce that the second series of House of Cards is the next show we’ll be watching and discussing on Watch with Mumsnet, in association with Netflix.

For those who’ve yet to succumb, award winning drama House of Cards follows cunning Congressman Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) on his quest for power, aided by his equally conniving wife, Claire (Robin Wright). Both Season 1 & 2 are available to watch on Netflix instantly.

Here’s what Mumsnetters have been saying about the show so far:

"Best thing I've seen for ages”

"I haven't enjoyed a series so much since The West Wing"

“ I was a bit unsure about this as I loved the original but it is amazing! I watched the whole lot in a Netflix weekend mega marathon and I highly recommend it. I really hope they put out a second series, it is quality viewing”

If you've been wondering what to watch to get you through the dreary winter months then look no further. Better yet, you can watch it on Netflix whenever you want: binge on the whole series in one go or just catch it whenever's handy. And then, of course, you can come back and join the discussion on the show with everyone else on this thread. Everyone who takes part will be entered into a draw to win an Xbox One.

Whether you’ve watched the first series, or you’re new to House of Cards, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Happy watching,
MNHQ

Can we talk about it while we're watching then? Should we have a spoiler alert?

I am watching the final one of the last series tonight to remind me of where we're at - before settling down for a binge this weekend.

Ooh great! Watched the first series and just about to sit down and watch the next one tonight (well as much as we can in one night!). Will update later!

We watched the first episode of season 2 last night. Oh My Goodness!
I want to watch the rest of the episodes in one marathon session, DH wants to eke them out.

I'm on ep 5 now. Finding this series more gripping than the first.

Agree with Ampers.....Shock for episode one!

The thing we were BOTH looking forward to about Valentine's Day? The inevitable House of Cards binge.

Episode 1 - if you've seen it, you'll know the bit I mean and if not, I won't ruin it for you - but we actually had to rewind and watch again as we couldn't believe it had actually just happened!

We got to episode 3 before we begrudgingly called it a night. Neither DH nor I are usually TV watchers, but House of Cards has us both hooked. Fantastically written and acted and very gripping. Worth the Netflix subscription alone.

Dh has fallen asleep, so no chance of seeing episode 2 tonight ... grrr

I'm just SO delighted I didn't know about the major thing that happens in S2 Ep1! Not sure how that didn't get out. Total shock. Loved it.

Please hurry up with Orange is the New Black new series!!!

And, the aforementioned DH has read what happens in the last ep of S2. If he lets it slip I will not be held responsible for my actions.

I LOVE House of Cards! What a brilliant show! It's got great acting and a great script; it's so good that I stop doing anything else to watch (rare for me, I usually MN while DH watches tv/films). I've been so excited for the new season. I totally agree about the major thing in episode 1 someone mentioned above-- OMG!! Stuff like that is why I love this show.

DH and I are watch-when-we-can types, due to children and house and work but my mother and her DH stay up all night and watch in one go. I love that Netflix allows that.

We haven't finished watching series 1 yet but DH is enjoying it more than me, if he wasn't waiting for me to catch up I'm sure he would be on series 2 already.

I like Kevin Spacey but this isn't my style of show.

Halfway through series 2 now.

Kevin Spacey never did anything for me before this but there's something about the way he keeps murdering people him in this, he is well fit!

We started watching on Friday saying 'we'll just watch one, see how it is' and then watched 2 episodes back to back!

So gripping and brilliant as ever...totally unprepared for the episode 1 shocker but loved it!

We then had a massive argument discussion about binge watching or rationing them to 2 week. We're trying to do the latter but I don't know if we have the willpower...

We watched the first two episodes of series 2 yesterday and will watch another today. It's my favourite programme and I've really been looking forward to the new series. I also didn't see the episode 1 shock coming!

DH, me and Ds (18) are glued to this and we have a team decision to watch only one episode a day with 2 on weekends. We were smacked of the gob with S2 ep1! Unbelievable (well no, believable) but my word what a shocker.
Episode 3 tonight whilst we are having dinner, bad form I know but we dont have enough time to sit down for dinner and then to watch House of Cards. I'm so excited Blush.

ok ok, a new House of Cards? This means I can re join now.

I have been away from Netflix for a few months, just as a break, (easy to do by the way) and now I shall sign up again.

My inappropriate crush on Kevin Spacy can now continue...and my giggling at Robin Wrights quiet, thoughtful and calculating faraway look can also continue.

I love that the second series carried on exactly where the first series left off! And what a shocker in that first episode! I don't want to give anything away in case people haven't started watching it yet but they certainly kicked the second series off with a bang! The dialogue is brilliantly written with the best actors for the roles and I love how the show is shot. Stunning viewing!

I have not watched this yet but judging by the comments this is getting below, I think it will be definitely be added to my list (just as soon as I have caught up with Suits)

I watched series 2 on Valentine's day, in one sitting, accompanied by a bottle of pink Champagne, I have honestly never enjoyed Valentine's Day more! Series 2 is fantastic, so gripping, great plot twists and Kevin Spacey is mesmerising. Finding out more about Claire's earlier life gives her character more depth and leads to a better understanding of how she and Frank operate together. Fab, fab, fab, I don't hesitate to recommend it.
