EE have asked us to find out what the strangest thing is Mumsnetters have ever been asked to share.

Here's what EE have to say, "We're the UK's biggest mobile network and we've just created Shared 4GEE Plans. They are a new way for your household to share a pool of data across your devices from phones to laptops to tablets and still save money.

A Shared 4GEE Plan allows your whole family to enjoy the fastest speeds on EE's 4G network. It works by letting you share your data allowance across up to 5 devices whether they are 4G ready or not, and everyone can enjoy unlimited minutes and unlimited texts too. Even better, it's less money than having everyone on separate mobile contracts and you get it all on one simple bill. Shared 4GEE Plans are unique to EE and we want to celebrate their launch by asking you how sharing fits into your busy life.

We recently conducted a survey asking Mumsnetters what they would share and only 3% of respondents would be willing to share their toothbrush, which got us thinking - what is the most unusual item you've ever shared or have been asked to share?"

Perhaps a neighbour once asked to borrow your brand new car? Or your colleague asked for half your sandwich? Maybe your LO has been known to make strange requests to have share something? Where do you draw the line when sharing?

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a HTC One Mini handset worth £365. For full T&Cs please click here.

Please note your comments may be used (anonymously of course) on EE's pages on MN, social media channels and possibly elsewhere.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Hmm, my strangest has to be a lift share to uni in the next town. It involved me driving to her town in the opposite direction then back past mine and on to uni. The share doubled my time and petrol costs but saved hers totally. When I suggested she was passing mine anyway and would incur no extra time/cost so maybe that would be better I got told I was most selfish and should consider her more! I declined politely and she sulked for the remaining two years Grin

Obviously a lift share isn't strange but the circumstances of this one seemed very odd!

My ds asked if he could share my run! Now I love running, it's my 'me' time, but I had to say yes. Suppose I should be grateful my teenage son still wants to be seen out in public with his mother! Grin

Due to overbooking, hotel asked me to share a room with a stranger at an annual conference, okay, she was a delegate, but then expected to share a double bed with her too! Oh no, guess who got upgraded to the bridal suite, because that is all we have left - that will do nicely!

We just sat down at the local play farm, with some chips, and a man approached, he said, "They look nice, my wife doesn't let me have chips! Can I have one?". We said yes, but we thought he was joking, however he just took one, and said, "Lovely!".

We didn't have a car at the time and my friend was having a party about 300 miles away. I declined, saying I couldn't get there with toddler DS in tow (children were invited to the party), and she'd found a friend she said would give us all a lift to the party as he was living close to where we were at the time. So a 600 mile round trip with a toddler, and a person we didn't know. Bless her, I know she really wanted us to go to the party, but that long a car journey, with a toddler requiring regular pitstops, in a stranger's car, er, no!

My urine. When I was heavily pg I was asked to poas for someone that was trying to get emergency accommodation from the council.

She wasn't impressed when I told her I didnt think it would work.

Once had a not particularly close work colleague ask me if I would buy some stuff on a store card and she would pay the minimum payments.

My ds wants to share everything with me - bed, bath, food, drink. It wasn't so bad sharing food and drink when he was little, but at 7 one bite of my cake is rather a lot. And he takes up a lot of room in the bath.

Strangest thing for me was 'husband'
Me and lil sis used to share everything.
Im Muslim and for us we have to say a prayer for the nikah (marriage ceremony) now who ever says it (repeats after the priest) they are then married to the other person who says it (think of it as vows)
Lil sis didnt understand and she said
dont worry if you mess up I will read it with you
As you can imagine all the stares she got from all the elder members of family! Lmao.
Mum then said im sure she doesnt want to share her husband with you!

I got asked to share a room with someone I'd never met before when we were attending a course and had both been booked into the same room on the accommodation block. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a twin room, but it wasn't. It had one single bed!

Another one asked to share an hotel room with a stranger, again on a conference. I did it as well, mainly because the alternative was to go home and I was anticipating some ace freebies the next day. They did introduce me to my roommate first, to see if we liked the look of each other Confused Grin. Not sure if either of us would have had to the nerve to say "No, I don't think so," on being introduced!

It was the least restful night I've ever had I think. The poor woman I shared with was very anxious and couldn't stop talking, even in her sleep.

I had to share a part in a school play once.
We both played Lady Capulet, I did the first act and she did the second, so at least I had the party!
They added a few lines for Lady capulet two in order to make it fair....wonder now if her mum had stormed the school demnading her daughter was given a bigger part!

Going out for a meal is a rare treat for me and my husband and we have been asked a couple of times, when a place is busy (usually in small country pubs), if we would mind sharing a table with other diners. Maybe some people are more sociable than me, and wouldn't mind. I certainly would, and think this is a very odd expectation!

My neighbour asked to share my washing line. I didn't really know what to say and ended up letting them. She proceeded to hang out all her underwear saying how much nicer it smells when it dries outside.

I try not to let her see when I'm outside now.

Apart from all the usual toddler "sharing" (meaning "I'll take most of yours, but don't even think about asking for some of mine"), it's probably rooms at company kick off events.

US corporations seem to think that sharing rooms (not beds, I am glad to say) is normal and don't understand the European resistance to the whole idea. I once shared with someone I didn't know at all, and another time arrived late and had to ask the check in staff who I was sharing with as she was already there and asleep - that one was a nice surprise actually as it was someone I knew and liked.

A ferry company once tried to tell my mother that a 4 berth cabin was enough accommodation for a family of 5 (they were paying, as ferry had been delayed/cancelled/something). She drew herself up to her full 5ft 2.25" and said "my children don't share beds" - they gave her another cabin, and we had uncharacteristically enough sense to keep quiet, as had we been paying we would absolutely have been sharing Grin

Pants. My toddler always follows me into the bathroom and tries to climb in them while I am sitting on the toilet. I'm still wearing them too mind you!

Otherwise, the oddest thing would have to be a bra. DP's ex brought her children over for a visit and for some reason she never wore a bra. That was quite an odd request. The bra gurus on here would have been in fits as it was easily 5 sizes too small.

When my eldest was about 3 he threw a tantrum because I wouldn't share my hiccups. He was screaming in all seriousness "give me hiccups mummy!" He was furious.

I would have shared if I could've.
