Well, obviously there is The West Wing...nuff said grin

When I was a teenager I loved The Press Gang.

At the moment I'm loving Ripper Street and Suits, and DS is loving Fireman Sam!

The Good Wife is about the only thing I watch. This series is very good.

Loved Downton Abbey until Matthew died. I will probably watch the next series but it wont be the same.

DP liked Homeland!

hmm, well.
I asked for a hard drive recorder for christmas. Currently it is 89% full. Think we have 64 zoo lane, thomas the tank engine, fireman sam, scooby doo, city of friends, shawn the sheep.
Oh, and top gear for DH.

Can you see how much I get to use my christmas present????

Dh and I rarely watch "live" telly. We have bt vision.

We are currently on the first season of the West Wing having both missed it. Was a bargain xmas gift to dh.

We often watch iplayer to catch up on friday night comedy (qi, room 101, 8 out of 10 cats) or box sets of old unseen series.

All time favs are on hard copy though, like the wire, twin peaks, the sopranos. For me things like the good wife, greys anatomy and <whispers> Dawsons Creek blush

Dc's are this very moment watching tree fu tom which will be followed by abney and teal (on catch up).

They both also love toy story and ds loves cars.

We've finished our half term now. DS1 had a bug so was fairly sofa bound. He discovered time team. Hewas glued to it. He also really enjoyed the king in the car park, he's 9. DS2, became 7 during half term, enjoys action and superhero films but isn't one for watching much tv. DDjust 2 loves what she calls dancing dancing, a very old wiggles dvd, pingu, Dumbo and the lion king music.

I've really been enjoying call the midwife, its the right time slot for the show and well made.

Miranda is our fave recent thing. We also really love Great British Bake off over the past few years (I even stayed in to watch it when we were on holiday!), the kids actually enjoy Bake off too as they are into their cooking so we record it for them to watch. Can't wait for Dr Who - really miss it when it's not on. Kids tend to enjoy most CBBC and CITV stuff - they love Tracey Beaker, MI high, mission to madagascar, also walk on the wild side is great and even i like watching it as the voiceovers for the animals are soooo funny.

The Killing was unmissable for me. I watched it live but also recorded it just in case. GBBO was also essential. feel a bit lost without something good lined up to watch, am recording Spiral in anticipation. I tend to watch crime dramas or documentaries but am very picky about what actually grabs me. I watch a lot of first episodes, then delete the rest of the series a few months later. if I have the luxury of day time TV I watch America's test kitchen.

me and DS (7 years old) watched Africa together, both loved it. he also enjoys deadly 60, blue planet and spongebob. so quite a ,mixtur.

me and DP tend to watch documentaries together, science ones ideally. latest Brian cox one hasn't appealed though.

kids mainly watch cbeebies, CBBC and cartoons. Mr bean and pink panther also popular.

can't remember what info was actually requested, hope is close enough!

StainlessSteelCat Mon 18-Feb-13 21:59:15

best ever is either the killing or twin peaks.

I hardly watch TV anymore, but Homeland has had me completely enthralled. Also really enjoying How I Met Your Mother, particularly the new series. I do also love Dr Who whenever it's on smile

LiveItUp Mon 18-Feb-13 22:11:17

Lewis, Call the Midwives, Ripper Street, Silent Witness, Great British Bake Off, Jamie's 15 minute meals ... that's us anyway.

The DC's watch very little. There really aren't any children's programmes that have engaged them for any length of time. Absolutely none. If left to their own devices and have a free rein with the remote I tend to find them watching old series of Top Gear. hmm One of the DS enjoyed Africa actually, but that really is it.

CockBollocks Mon 18-Feb-13 22:16:50

Loved Luther - bit scared it wont be back!!

Silent Witness, Call the Midwife, GBBO, Bones and various american sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory etc.

The kids like Peppa pig, childrens films anything really and my DS really likes Top Gear!!

noyouhavehadawee Mon 18-Feb-13 22:20:38

call the midwife, spy in the huddle and some soaps and love watching not going out ofsmile

CheeryCherry Mon 18-Feb-13 22:33:54

I loved watching Cold Feet. Fantastic series. Loved Queer as Folk too. And This Life was brilliant too. They're my favourite ever series.
More recently I've enjoyed Great British Bake off, Last Tango in Halifax, Outnumbered and Miranda.
This half term my DCs haven't been well, so watching Twilight films, Hunger Games, Mama Mia and Harry Potter.

HaDeHaDeHa Mon 18-Feb-13 22:37:10

We're watching the Sherlock and The Thick of It boxsets and the children are still enjoying the Tree-Fu Tom DVD from Christmas, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Total Wipeout on iplayer.

DebbieLovesDallas Mon 18-Feb-13 22:41:47

The best TV series I've ever watched is The Walking Dead, gripping stuff! Also currently watching Call the Midwife, Dallas and 90210. The kids have just gotten into The Care Bears and He-Man and She-Ra, that takes me back! grin

I don't really watch much TV but I must say I am absolutely loving Call the Midwife at the moment. I read the book (more than once) a few years ago and its so true to the book and the acting is fabulous.

All the good series I start to like seem to get cancelled though. In the past, I've started watching Heroes (cancelled) and FlashForward (also cancelled) and was most disappointed when they just stopped filming it!

We try not to stick the kids in front of the TV but DS does love a bit of Power Rangers and would watch it all day long if he was allowed!

ClaraOswinOswald Tue 19-Feb-13 09:43:17

At the moment I'm watching:
Call the Midwife
Ripper Street
World's End
The Following
The Middle
Raising Hope
Modern Family

Me and my girls love Glee, Smash, Big Bang Theory and Friends but watch them when DH is out.

We sky plus things and watch them later. I have to avoid discussion threads as I'm often behind.

We'll give most things a go but the kids don't like period dramas so I watch them on my own.

We all love Doctor Who and wish it was on more.

We don't watch soaps but the girls like Waterloo Road which we watch together and sets us up for a lot of discussion (they are nearly teens so I encourage it).

ClaraOswinOswald Tue 19-Feb-13 09:44:29

Oh yeah, DDs love iCarly, Victorious, Good Luck Charlie, Ant Farm, all that stuff. I don't.

I liked H2O though, the mermaid one.

StuffezLaBouche Tue 19-Feb-13 09:45:41

Walking dead
prison break
fawlty towers

Babycarmen Tue 19-Feb-13 10:32:55

I am hooked on Revenge, I love it!

youmaycallmeSSP Tue 19-Feb-13 10:48:32

DH and I really enjoyed season 1 of Downton Abbey, hated the second series (but loved the Christmas special) and enjoyed again the third series (but not the Christmas special!).

Recently we watched Africa. Sir David Attenborough never fails to present awe-inspiring stuff. We've also been watching the BBC series North & South on DVD. DH has been hooked by Prison Break on Love Film but I think it's an awful programme.

DS likes Thomas and Friends, Tractor Tom, Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig.
