Just had parent evening on zoom for teen DS. One teacher said he's lost interest and asked why. I had to calmly explain that kids have had a horrible year and are just trying to get back to school.
I sent a separate e mail after the call to explain he was not in a good place mentally in lockdown and we had help from MAST.
School were made aware of this and the SENCO communicated it to all the staff. There must have been other kids struggling in a large secondary school, not just our son? Also had a comment that he "clearly lacks self esteem". Which he doesn't, as he excells in a particular individual sport and loves to socialise. Agghhhhh !
