I have no problems buying "witcher" stuff for my son but my friends and family want to get "something special" for his landmark birthday, i have trawled the net looking for gifts and all of the normal stuff has no relevance to him at all. I really don't want to resort to the gift token road again any bright ideas out there please. [He doesn't go out, has no no interest in any sport but is doing games design at college]

Hi kitdomgen

I'm new to MN & as it's a miserable BH Monday I've been looking around the site & just found your post.

I don't know what to suggest, but wanted to say my son has aspergers & is going to be 17 this year and funnily enough I was thinking a few weeks ago about what he might want to do this time next year. I mentioned it to him but he didn't seem fussed & I know when the time comes and people want to get him something special he probably still won't be fussed.

At this rate I'll be telling people what I normally tell them, he's more than happy with a box of organic weetabix and a packet of custard creams!

Sorry I have no bright ideas. I hope others might!

My DS, also with Asperger's, was 18 last year. We splashed out and got him an iPad. I had no idea whether he would use it but it's been a great success. If your DS is into design there's various apps he might like to use on it.

We were strongly tempted to get him a Teasmade! He's always taking cups of tea to his room, and likes one first thing in the morning.
