Hello,

My name is Niamh Webb, I am a tutor and project administrator here at WAC Performing Arts and Media College, based in Belsize Park, North West London
( www.wac.co.uk )

We are very lucky to have funding for several projects for high functioning autistic and aspergers young people, to coincide with our own radio station, and are looking to invite new young people:

Monday 1st – Friday 5th August - Creative Communications
This project is for 12-15 year olds. Young people will have the opportunity to use the WAC professional recording studio to deliver live radio. The content and planning for shows is devised and created by the students. Friends and family can listen in live

Monday 8th- Friday 12th August-Mockumentary Music /Radio
This project is for 15- 18 year olds. Young people will have the opportunity to work alongside our ‘Band School’ to create a music video, and ‘making of’ mockumentary. This will all culminate in a live radio broadcast and copies of the films to take home to show their family and friends their work.

Tuesday 15th- Thursday 18th August
This project is for 8-13 year olds. We only need another 3 or 4 young people, they must be high functioning ASD.
This week young people will have the opportunity to try a variety of WAC’s inclusive technologies to create media, and have fun, around the theme of the Circus with contributions to and from the Wonder WAC group running alongside.

Via music workshops, radio shows and visualisations (including painting with sound), all aspects of cutting edge artforms will be used to facilitate an exciting, colourful, varied project that aims to enhance communication skills and teamwork for this age group whilst introducing them to new, inspirational technology and techniques.

Please do contact me if you are interested in any of the above projects (please note, they are free) or if you know of any young people who may fit the above specifications. You can find out more about us here:

Places are filling up fast, please do email me at: niamh@wac.co.uk

Alternatively you can ring me at the office on the number below. I am in on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
