Will DLA affect our current benefits?

My son has recently been diagnosed as having autistic spectrum disorder. I work full time and my partner who mainly cares for him claims contribution based ESA (work related group). I know that my son would be entitled to DLA and possibly carers allowance but want to know if claiming these would affect my partners benefits. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

DLA is non means tested and non taxable so it shouldn't affect any other benefits. If you get tax credits you may be entitled to more as if your son is awarded DLA, there is a disability premium for tax credits.
