Our SN area is not a substitute for expert advice. While many Mumsnetters have a specialist knowledge of special needs, if they post here they are posting as members, not experts. There are, however, lots of organisations that can help - some suggestions are listed here. If you've come across an organisation that you've found helpful, please tell us. my 8 year old is awaiting a refrral for dyspraxia testing from a gp. how long should it take for the letter to come though ?

It varies depending on where you live I think scottie. If it's NHS then an appointment should be forthcoming within 18 weeks of request, however, if they are short - staffed then I think it can be longer. Who has the GP referred you to? Is it an Occupational Therapist?

Dyspraxia testing is likely to be done by an Occupational Therapist maybe with some paediatrician input. My DS (6.5) has dyspraxia too and much of the testing he has had has been occupational therapy based.
