SEN child, mainstream secondary school

Hi everyone, I wonder whether anyone has experience of mainstream state secondary schools in north east England or the Scottish Borders which is particularly good for SEN provision? My son has ADHD and mild ASD and currently attends our small local primary which is great for my other kids but just doesn't seem to step up to the challenges my son presents. He doesn't cause a huge problem to them and in some ways I think that lowers motivation! He does pretty well there socially but the potential move to a huge comprehensive school feels terrifying. Thanks for your help! X
