Our SN area is not a substitute for expert advice. While many Mumsnetters have a specialist knowledge of special needs, if they post here they are posting as members, not experts. There are, however, lots of organisations that can help - some suggestions are listed here. If you've come across an organisation that you've found helpful, please tell us. If you have dc with HFA do they go to mainstream secondary? Don't know what to do?

Ds will be at secondary next year. Long story, ehcp was refused and I was told a lot of lies. Fast forward to now and I'm trying to source an ed psy to do a report and will be reapplying for ehcp and prepared to go to tribunal.

He has HFA and is dyslexic. He is very bright but low self esteem. Iv applied for the local comp as this is the feeder school and all his class will go there and it's the only one local as we are quite rural. The school is very big but has an ASD unit.

I rang sos Sen who advised I went to have a look around the special independent schools to see where I feel he will flourish. Trouble is I don't know where he will flourish.

Could anyone share their experience of secondary schools?!
