Our SN area is not a substitute for expert advice. While many Mumsnetters have a specialist knowledge of special needs, if they post here they are posting as members, not experts. There are, however, lots of organisations that can help - some suggestions are listed here. If you've come across an organisation that you've found helpful, please tell us. Go to Special needs chat, Parents with disabilities, SN teens, SN legal, SN children, SN recommendations.

Is there a way too sign without registering with the council? Could you put one on

Have you asked them for their impact assessment under the equality duty?

If they have not involved pupils in the school it could be illegal. It might be illegal anyway because this idiotic plan is going to severely impact on those with autism.

Quote below

The specific duties require all listed public bodies to publish a disability equality scheme, demonstrating how they intend to fulfil their general and specific duties. Public bodies should involve disabled people in the development of the scheme, implement the action plan set out in the scheme, and review and revise the scheme every three years.

Another bit from the EHRC

It is unlawful for education providers to treat you less favourably for a reason related to your disability or to fail to make reasonable adjustments to prevent you being placed at a substantial disadvantage.

There must be a case there that moving children with autism is going to put them at a substantial disadvantage.

The EHRC have a help line and I have found them very useful.

Signed, and I'm local too.
I've also worked as a teacher in buildings completely unsuited to the purpose, due to the reallocation and redesignating of buildings as suitable for educating young pupils, and it was a nightmare.
I expected better of the Greens.
Keep us posted BMF.
