Occasionally have a look at the multiple section.

There is a thread going about their twins starting School 'together ' in September

Obviously some are upset at their "baby's starting School" but I had to really stop myself from putting 'just be so so grateful they are starting the same School'

One Mum can't wait to see her twins dressed on the first day.

My twin Daughters.....Grace has a green jumper and Ellie a red. I was even going to put a green one on Ellie to take a photo so they would be the same, how sad is that!!

Really hoped I would be getting over this by now, but now the 'Starting separate Schools' is looming!

Sorry for the moaning, haven't done it as much lately, thought I'd get a name for myself!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't mean to sound offensive to the other Multiple Mums.

Everyone has their own worries and concern

I dont think offend other multiple Mums, they will probably understand how you feel better than anyone else.
Most twins have a bond stronger than other siblings, so it is a shame when they have to be separated, different classes would'nt be so bad but different schools............

anniebear why are your DD's going to seperate schools? do they understand the reasons?

lucylady · 06/08/2005 16:10

Anniebear, Please can you post why your twins are starting separate schools in Sept?
Also why Should I just be grateful mine are?
Ive always assumed they would start same school together so curious as to why yours are not.
Hope this dosent sound rude it is not meant to be.
I would be heartbroken if they were parted.

anniebear Sorry it is getting you down. Milestones like this are always hard. I felt the same when my autistic son went to a different school. It just wasn't what I had pictured in my head{ I had always imagined my boys at the same school like some kind of little team) and I found it hard to come to terms with. In a years time it will seem much more natural to you.

anniebears children are going to different schools because one of her twins has special needs so is going to a special school.

Anniebear - don't worry about moaning - you have to do it somewhere and I can imagine it must be incredibly painful. I do think it must be very hard as Ellie is a twin- and also extra hard because Ellie's problems were aquired. Just allow yourself to feel sad, but be pleased that Ellie will be going to a school that will be just right for her (iyswim). I'm now so in love with ds1's special school that I didn't feel even a little bit sad when ds2's future school were talking about how they love having siblings go. xxxx

anniebear having read your story and followed your worries i really have alot of respect for you. I know , in a way how you feel as i never envisaged my daughter would ever go to special school - i am sure others can relate to that. But it is nothing compared to the pain and emotional upheaval you must be feeling a big ((hug))) from me xx

multiple mums, i am sure anniebear meant no offence

I am on the special needs section aren't I??!!!

Thought I had posted on the wrong one for a moment!!!

As Jimjams said one of mine has SN and are going to different Schools as one needs to go to a special school.

And yes I am VERY VERY heartborken that they are having to be parted, but it is what is best

Didn't mean to upset you!!

I rarely look on the Multiples and just had a little look today. As I said everyone has there own worries and concerns.

I was just voicing mine to great friends I have made in this section

I was just upset as it is a very hard time for me at the moment

Thank you Fio2!!

I do look at a lot of the other sections but rarely the muliples as I feel now the SN is more relevant to me, also know everyone here and most know me!

Don't apologise Anniebear. I think people pick up on threads through Active Conversations and don't always realise its SN. I'm sure no-one on Multiples is offended, I really hope not. Set Fio on them!

If you hide in bed make sure you take a glass of wine I'm hoping to hide in bed with the latest Harry Potter book tonight. Can't see that anyone could be offended Anniebear- don't worry xx

Anniebear - so sorry, this is obviously such an upsetting milestone, and as someone said, the 'multiple' mums can probably understand more keenly than others the pain of seeing your daughters take separate paths.
This is a painful stage, look after yourself. Hugs.

AB - So sorry you're going through this. I hope things get a bit easier for you after the first few days of your girls going to school.

I often read posts on other boards and get very upset hearing about the marvel of NT development. It's a kick in the teeth when you read a post from a mum complaining about a situation that you can only dream about.

Report
lucylady · 06/08/2005 20:34

Anniebear, I am not offended. I did not realise I was on SN when I posted. (became obvious afterwards) I just read it that your daughters were not able to go to same school for whatever reason. And was curious why. Thats all.

Jenkins88, If you read my post on Multiples you will notice I was not complaining.

Report
anniebear · 06/08/2005 20:38

Phwee!!!

No,I know you weren't complaining think jenkins88 just meant in general it's hard as an SN Mum to listen to other people voice things, concerns, problems that we would love to have!!!

That was my fault, I should have worded my post better

lucylady - I never said you were complaining, and I wasn't refering to that particular thread. Just pointing out how I feel when I read posts about NT children.

Hi anniebear. One of my twins has SN.
He has Verbal Dyspraxia and will attend mainstream school with his sister 3days and a SN school 2days.
I obviously do not know your situation but it is sounds lot more involved than mine.
I wish you and your girls lots of hugs for sept.

Anniebear, having just read your thread after gaily tapping out my 'happy' thread I feel a bit rotten. I was going to make the decision of whether or not to send ds to school with his brother and sister or to another school but fortunately for me the decision was taken out of my hands. I too would have been upset if he had gone elsewhere but then I would see that it would be the best for him and I know you know that. Sorry for prattling too much G & T!

Report
jenkins88 · 06/08/2005 20:54

lucylady - No need, it was just a misunderstanding. I know it's irrational to feel the way I do and the obvious answer is just not to read them in the first place, but sometimes in an unguarded moment....

it is hard anniebear, i too have twins girls but they both have autism and go to the same special needs school, i think i would have found it really difficult if they had to go to different schools, we all understand on the SN bit well we try too anyway.
