I expect you all are aware...but if not.... i've been watching loads of 'old' QED programmes on teacher's tv (sky 594...freeview and cable too)
last night was one called "crisis in the classroom"...children excluded and attending a unit aimed and getting them back into school- one girl 'selective mute' as they called it..one boy with panic attacks.... and several others- interesting as showed the mum of the panicky lad was very over protective- and the mum of another was unable to 'bond' with her son...or show/recieve affection etc...and the teachers helped them too...soo this was not just a case of shoving the kids off somewhere and 'changing' them- and the parenr=ts still being the same...they 'moved' the whole family on.
This week they have had and are repeating programmes about 'classic' Autism (called stranger in the family) and "out of control kids" - about ADHD
the autism one was a bit "i wish i could find a cure"and "look at my other NT 'perfect' child" etc.....BUT if you ignored those bits there were some great bits showing PECS and the communication for Non Verbal kids (yep...velcro too!!!)
I haven't watched the ADHD one yet!
