Ah, just asked how it went on RnB's RDI thread. Was it good? How did you feel when you were away about leaving DS1? How do you feel about it now?

It was WEIRD. Laid some demons to rest. For example I have always felt hard done by that we can't ever go out for a family meal anywhere (I kind of had a roses round the garden image of going out for sunday lunch with my brood pre-mummy days- and we used to go out a lot when ds1 was a baby). Anyway we did have a couple of nice lunches, but in general the food was crap, and overpriced and places like Breswters are simply awful.

The weirdest thing was the first morning, dh was playing snakes and ladders with ds2, ds3 was asleep and I was ..... bored, kind of. It was weird not to have to think about anything. Normally my whole time is spent thining about where ds1 is, what's he doing, how are we going to get out to the car, etc etc and when I didn't have to think about that it was kind of bland. Soon got oever that one though.

ds1 came t visit a couple opf times. Fiorst time- really calm, although was more than happy to leave. Second time didn't even want to come in. WOuldn't eat whilst he was visiting us, so definitely the right decision to leave him behnid. He had a very calm week- mum said she thought he enjoyed the peace and quiet, and certainly the first thing he did when he saw us all the seond time was slam his hands over his ears.

Am pleased to be back with him. Am pleased to have laid my eating out demon to rest. WOuld definitely leave him with mum and dad again, and I think they'd have him

Also was staggered to find out how much family "attractions" cost so pleased we can't do those normally. Am happy to leave it up to Mum and Dad to take ds2 (and ds3).

Jimjams glad you had a good time and you are dead right about Brewsters!

can't say that ds1 missed ds2 though. I think ds2 is too noisy for him.
