DS (4 & ASD) due to start MS school in January. No DX or statement as of yet and no immediate plans to.

Anyway, got this today...

Dear parent,

We would like to discuss DS at our next termly planning and review meeting. These meetings are attended by a member of the Inclusion Support Team, an Educational Psychologist and the SENCO from our school. At the meeting your child's needs and progress will be reviewed, so that strategies and provision to best support them can be identified and monitored.

Please can you return the permission slip below asap.

So...anything I need to be aware of or ask before I sign my life away

I would request to be present at the meeting

I would also ask to attend this meeting.

It all sounds very nice but could in the end be all style and no actual substance e.g an IEP not worth the paper its written on.

Has anyone mentioned the word "Statement?". Have you considered personally applying for this?.
