im a 19 yr old mum to a 1yr old girl and a 2yr old boy. Im also 32 weeks pregnant. My 2yr old is due to start pre-school in september and isn't yet potty trained. In january 2005 he was told he has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, is there anyone out there who is or has been in my situation as i really need advice with being able to potty train him???

the only problem is he cannot sit on his bottom. as he has no balance. he sits in the w position do you think it is worth trying to potty train him or see how his balance developes??

I have two children with spastic diplegia CP and they didn't pottytrain till they were 4. The preschools and the nursery they went to were understanding. I used a potty chair, which helped as they had support.

sparkly - how do you cope with two children with cp are they close in age? i find it hard enough having 2 children aged 1 and 2 and being 32 weeks pregnant and having the one child with cp.

Something similar to that FD.
Ds is 7, DD1 is 5 on monday, and I have a 3 year old dd.
I cope because I have to, though DD1 is at her carers for the first time today, just texted the carer and they are having pizza in town, so Dd1 will be in heaven later I found it hard to begin with because I was devasated when the hospital told me that Dd1 also had CP, took about a week for it to sink in.
