Jjones about her DS3's dx reminded me to post this. If you have Catch Up on your TV look at last week's episode of the BBC programme the Choir Unsung Town. Gareth Malone is fantastic and chooses a little girl with SN/LD to be his soloist in the children's choir.... and she is great and the right choice. It is interesting though that her lack of inhibition probably helps.

This is a great series isn't it?! I love Gareth Malone - he needs a knighthood imo the way he's raised the status of 'proper' singing and community building.
That little girl is fantastic - such a star!

I love it, I am going to look into finding a local community choir. There is one but its evenings but then I suppose they would be, to include the whole commity.
Don't you think Gareth Malone could double as David Tennant, or vice versa?

He's quite a fop, isn't he!

Maybe all us sn mums should sing - might help our collective depressions!

Oh I LOVE this programme! DH had Gareth Malone at one of his conferences - said he was a great speaker and got all the delegates up on their feet singing.

Was so pleased when he picked Sibel as the soloist - she was def the best. Cried with her Mum at the performance though.

I'm also looking for a choir - but nothing around here at all that doesn't demand a higher level than my warblings...
I do think it's a great way of releasing tension.
