Can someone please come and tell my ds it is nightime and time to go to bed, not time for a drive. Is this a battle I should be giving in as it's been going on nearly 2 hours??

hi, my ds has special needs and in order to make bedtime as easy as possible we do the exact same things every night. any change in routine, time etc causes problems

i have the same problem with dd2 (she's still up playing with her toys), TBH i have given up , if i start putting her back to bed she seems to think i'm playing a game. I used to battle with her for 2-4 hours each night but i found this caused both of us more stress, now she plays on her own for an hour (i try not to play with her so she winds down by herself), when i go to bed (which is always before 10pm) she makes her own way to bed and goes straight to sleep.

I know i'm probably doing the wrong thing but i was getting so stressed (so was dd2) about bed time and this way just works for us at the moment.
