Found a way of helping my DS learn what the word 'how' means....

I have been struggling to get DS to learn what 'how' meant before he broke up from playschool. I read it somewhere about pretending to be a 'thick' robot!!!! So, I did!! he LOVES it!

DS says "mummy, can you get me a drink please?"

mummy says in funny robot voice "there is no mummy - only Mr Robot! I don't know how to get a drink - please tell me HOW."

I then make DS tell me everything by sequencing it because he can see it. So if DS says "get the milk" I would smack my hand into the fridge door until he says "open the fridge door!"

You get the idea anyway. Has taught him sequencing and best of all when you ask him a how question he understands it most of the time now! Just wanted to share as he absolutely LOVES me being this robot lol! grin

This is brilliant - for you! But also for ME!

We live in Glasgow where "how?" means "why?" and I have been teaching my kids the difference as it annoys the heck out of me!!

Now I have a plan! Thankyou! (and well done to your ds!!!)
