well will seem silly really i think

but i just gave ds the visit from the dummy fairy

he as most know is 4.3 and loves his night dummy its such a comfort and was once his only comfort but now his barney teddy seems to be his best friend thought it was right time to get rid of dummy

so i told him as were going o beach holiday the dummy fairy new he was a big boy and needs to take the dummies for all the babies hew as fine helped me collect them all up we bagged them an dhe put them outside the front door

so i said we better run and hide in his room so she can come collect them while in the i quietly lifted huge pack of knowledge books and popped them outside the door for him then i went in and said shall we see if she's been he run out saw books put hands over this mouth and said ooh thank you dummy fairy

so we took them back to his room and popped him into bed not to sleep but he likes to go at this time for peace i think anyway i found his barney pretended to listen for dummy fairy saying thank you from all the babies which he was there hand on ear big smile and i also said barney was really proud he grabbed barney and said thank you barney and cuddled and kissed him i have now left him to it

im proud of how he acted, scared in case it bothers him but also saying goodbye to my little man and having a real big boy now im so proud

lol we are thank goodness finally seems along time since i felt so optimistic lol

ds wanted nappy fairy to come at night but his no where near dry yet so i said when his nappies are dry then she will come

well done phoenix for him being dry in day

i was actually sad to see the dummies go its as much of a comfort to me as it was hima s i knew if i poppe dhis dummy back in sleep would be quicker if he wakes in night

but really knew it was time and he didnt ask for it once he fella sleep without it so hoping if he has done it that easily on first night maybe it will stay like this

ds can be quite matter of fact so hopefully dummy fairy came i dont have dummies any more and thats that he obviously didnt miss it tonight

who's your ds fave character? you could base it on something like that

well huge success he not once asked for his dummy hasnt mentioned it this morning did wake and would have settled quicker in night with dummy but took me an hr to get him back to sleep he was feeling a round his pillow so maybe was looking for it but never once asked for it

so i think we have done it whoo hoo surely the first night would be the worst night and not once did he ask hopefully when he wakes in night now he may learn to settle quicker as will get used to not having it im surprised he didnt say he wanted it or where is it must have done it just at the right time

Ds loves luigi, mario and gang,if i said the bottle giant was coming he would be terrified lol he is afraid of everything. That was good with dummy espescially through the night.

two lovely threads, bubblagirl! your holiday thread made me feel excited for you, but my keyboard was broken so i couldn't reply!!!

am thinking of asking santa to take ds's bottle at christmas. he has just started going to sleep by himself, without me holding him in the bed, and though it was a huge relief, there is a tiny part of me that recognised how he needs me less and less!

ragged its not a case of needing us less its just there able to settle without us which really isa good thing we can have the cuddles in the world throught he day and then night time our own again lol

thanks drlove and hambler

well he woke twice and wanted food but i think he just doesnt know what he wants his missing the dummy but not asking for one his accepted his a big boy now and thats that its gone better than i thought just obviously once his used to it hopefully the waking for long periods of time will lessen

still its not been too bad little bit of bread and he was ready to settle off second time he didnt really want anything but it replaced the comfort he misses im just glad although his missed it his not asking for it

phoenix had no wine run out so was just fizzy water for me still never mind we have that barrell glass to look forward to soon
