Family Fund Application Query

Good afternoon ladies

I was just wondering if anybody knew if there is a problem with asking for help towards a car on the FF application?

DS was diagnosed with CP this week, but has been having physio/orthotics/speech therapy appointments since the back end of last year, and as DH is self-employed, it often means me getting 2 buses both there and back with DS, DD (7 months) and a huge double buggy. Managable, but only just!

Any advice would be great! Thanks

DS isnt 2 until the end of this month, and so we cant apply for the mobility part of DLA until next year.

Never mind, will have a think for something else! Thanks

its def worth asking

when we had our visit they gave money towards fuel and transport

and on the 1st application it tends to be upto £1000

you could askf ro driving lessons for yourself, of a new smaller double buggy?

They are happy to help with costs of getting to hospital appointments. A grant of £500 could pay for a few taxis until you can apply for DLA .

I was considering a new double buggy bigbunny3 as I can already drive.

How are the payments made? Is it a voucher, or do you order through them?

If a new buggy cost £150, would I be able to ask for something else like play equipment for DS?
