One of those days

I have no therapist today so have DD. DS has conjunctivitis so can't go to his childminder. DH has gone off for two nights on a jolly to see the football in Istanbul. I have the period from hell. DD is in a very strange mood (air pressure?). I am trying to work out how to get through the day, how to get DS's prescription with DD in tow and generally how to survive the day, try and do therapy etc without going mad!
Just needed to offload

Fio2 Tue 24-May-05 08:24:46

oh poor you!

JakB Tue 24-May-05 08:35:15

I know I'm being very 'Oh, Poor Me!'. Just gets like that sometimes, doesn't it?!
And it's the panel for DD's school place today and I have this overwhelming feeling of doom...
Get me, Mrs Positive Mental Attitude. Not!

hello jakb

i have just waved off 3 of mine, now i have to get ds2 up, feed and dress him, get myself showered and beautified and us all into the car by 9.45 for a drive to n london for some intensive phsyio at a specialist centre for ds2, then on a v tight turnabout get back to surry to collect the rest of my bunch from school. One of those days for me too, so i understand (this is every week day for the next 2 weeks as well..)

hope your day gets better

Fio2 Tue 24-May-05 08:41:56

no, dont worry about being poor me! My Mum came down and offered to sit for us over the weekend, she didnt turn up til 10pm (she had gone out herself first!) then we were so tired we had a massive argument, i went home alone and my husband buggered off for about an hour, then he eventually came home, at 3am my dd started vomitting all over the bed so was up most the night with that, and now he is working away. just makes you completely knackered

Jimjams Tue 24-May-05 09:22:27

The panel will be fine! I was sure ds1's wouldn't and it was very smooth. have you arranged for someone to ring you wiith the result?

heartinthecountry Tue 24-May-05 09:31:59

JakB (and Lou and Fio) - .

I know its not much help - but you will get through it.

JakB Tue 24-May-05 09:32:22

Lou, good luck with your day, too. Fio2, sorry to hear about your weekend- sounds like you need a break desperately. Ironically, DH and I were meant to be having a weekend away but we've cancelled that due to a huge argument (I've caused it but now it's got out of control)
Jimjams, thanks for your positive thoughts about the panel. I really don't see how they can place her anywhere else but the unit but it doesn't stop me worrying. The LEA have gone very 'cool' on me but promised that somebody would call with the result but not straight away. Probably tomorrow. Or should I hassle them?

JakB Tue 24-May-05 09:32:46

HITC, how are you honey? Hope things are looking up for DD's programme. Have you sorted anything out?

MABS Tue 24-May-05 09:42:13

Oh God girls, what at sh*t week, and it's only Tuesday!! Ds was yesterday diagnosed with a speech impediment so we are back to the bloody SALT, who i HATE with a vengeance. Committee meeting of the vodka club soon I feel.

JakB Tue 24-May-05 09:53:55

Oh Mabs, I'm sorry love . Which SALT? Anybody I'd know?
We definitely need an imminent Vodka club meeting...

JakB Tue 24-May-05 09:54:38

ps DD has gone to sleep . Think she must be coming down with something. DS is getting every single toy out of every box in his room

Blossomhill Tue 24-May-05 10:40:33

Oh poor you JakB
Hope dd feels better soon. Hugs BH xxxx

coppertop Tue 24-May-05 10:55:22

I hope everyone's day/week starts to improve soon.

JakB Tue 24-May-05 11:12:48

Oh CT, just tell me to shut up! Just being a moaner.

pixel Tue 24-May-05 11:18:40

Sending you good luck vibes for the panel meeting Jak, I didn't realise it was today. I'm sure it will be fine. As you say, where else will they put her? I'm sure this was the case with my ds too as it all seemed to be a forgone conclusion. Let us know straight away won't you!

Wish I could be more help today (collecting prescription or something)but I've been up half the night with an upset tum so not straying too far if I can help it! It was bad enough getting dd to school this morning.

Davros Tue 24-May-05 11:50:32

Oh dear JakB, an awful day for you, hope it gets better tomorrow. I'm sure the Panel will be OK too but I know what you mean about still worrying.
Lou, you've got your work cut out! Hope it all goes well. Anything I can do to help if you're nearby?
Just found out this morning that DD is going to have her adenoids and tonsils out , also worried about her speech but when the hearing test machine flatlined on her left ear it made sense.

Jimjams Tue 24-May-05 12:08:52

ring up your statementing officer and ask jakb. Mine phoned me when she heard (same day).

Merlot Tue 24-May-05 12:45:30

Not read all this thread, but <<<hugs>>> Jak B - things can only get better?

heartinthecountry Tue 24-May-05 14:22:00

Thanks for asking JakB - I'm fine actually. Just decided we will do whatever hours we can and feeling okay about that.

What a whole load of shit/worrying news . Hugs to everyone.

JakB Tue 24-May-05 14:35:36

Ah, thanks love. Glad you've got going. Davros, sorry to hear about your DD- glue ear? My DD is having her adenoids out next Thursday as well as a dodgy grommet removed.

JakB Tue 24-May-05 14:36:47

ps Pixel, sorry you are ill love

motherinferior Tue 24-May-05 14:39:43

It's only three hours till a nice glass of wine...

JakB Tue 24-May-05 14:42:28

Bloody Hell darling, you start early! (even by my standards)
Wished I lived nearer to you

Davros Tue 24-May-05 14:44:26

JakB, thought you said Pixel is "in love"!!!
Yes, glue ear much to my amazement but caused by nasal/sinus congestion which is recurring. No big ear infections luckily. Let me know how your DD's adenoid op goes.
HITC, pleased to hear that you are settled and going ahead. Phone or email when you have a chance.
