CMA testing?

dd4 had apointment with the genetisit today... was interesting... she went over the tests dd4 has already had and said that because they were all "normal" that she would do the new CMA test on dd4's chromosomes for her next round of tests.
The doc said the test has been available for less than a year, and would show up a more detailed picture of whats happening with dd4... it can discover tiny parts of the chromosome that may be deleated/ replicated, that would not show up in other tests.
Have any of you had any experence of this test?, and how long did you have to wait for the results? .We have a repeat appointment in oneyear ! .
The genetisit also took photographs of dd4, including shots of her ears, hand and feet- which i thought a bit strange .... but no doubt theres a reason behind it .

The photos are because some genetic disorders have characteristic feet, hands, bridge of nose etc.

we are waiting on this test, our geneticist took various strange photys too!

we were told it takes a while, in fact we can expect around a 9mth wait!!! so we are expecting our results in octoberish.

We were told its brill and splits each chromosome into like a thousand bits or something (the paed wasnt entirely sure ) so they could see if anything is replicated/deleted even down to tiny bits. I think its where they get those rare syndrome names like "p3 deletion on long arm q" or something .

ah misscutandstick.... looks like we will both be waiting on those results a long time..... think your pead is a bit better at explaining the test than mine,i was left a bit , blinded by the science tbh..
well done you for remembering the technical speak !
