Not happy put in a request for a statutory re-assessment and lea say 6 wk deadline doesn't apply as 6 wk holidays coming up??

dunno but sounds a bit iffy really, can't see a statute saying - 6 weeks except for in school holidays somehow......

why not ask them to cite the statutory provision in support?

Isn't the 6 weeks just to give you a decision if they will reassess? and if so I think it's BS that it doesn't apply.

This is from the Suffolk LA document for parents about statements-

The LA may take longer than six weeks to decide whether they will or will not make a statutory assessment when:
- educational advice is requested during a period beginning one week before any date in which the school is closed for more than 4 weeks (for example summer holidays)

just because the LEA says something doesn't mean it's 100% legal though....
