I'm thinking of setting up a website listing local SN play and SN-friendly activities in the area (Southampton). Won't be a big site as there aren't many ;-)

What domain name? Something like sotonsnkids or southampton-sn-kids maybe?

What about something like solent-sn-playtime? or soton-sn-playdays maybe?

Cool, just looked at your profile, are you on the waiting list for Wordsworth House? MY DS1(4) got his DX of AS there last May, they are really nice there. CAT me if you want to chatsmile.

Yes, play is probably a better word than kids, would still deter people looking for adult help.

The "wordsworth house"??? Are they nhs?
Nope not on their waiting list.
We got a verbal dx of asd by a paed. but nothing formal yet.

Really? I would phone your paed/GP and ask to get him referred to Wordsworth ASAP as the waiting list is long. DX is based on their reports and an interview with both parents. It was also really good fun going to a place where nobody was judgy and he could be himself.

Of course you might not want a DX (some paeds are anti-labellinghmm) but I found it was the best thing we could have done. So good to dump all the vagueness and stop blaming ourselves. Plus you can apply for DLA, which even if you don't think you need it can go in his child trust fund towards whatever hobby/obsession he's into aged 18wink. Or split it between siblings as his behaviour affects everyone in the family.

Good luck

re domain name

whatever you go for - make it as short and memorable as possible. Avoid hyphens if you can as people can get confused by them

can you come up with acronym that is available? - maybe something like snas ( sn activites in southampton)or snaks (sn activities for kids in southampton)

you want to try and get across everything that it is (southampton based, sn leisure opportunities) without being long winded and being memorable

will have a think of some more for you
