today ds went to his new school that he will be starting in August.

he was there from 9.15am till 3pm and one of the teachers from his conductive education school went with him.

she said it was fab, really well resourced, lovely staff, TA's who were eager to learn all they could about ds and he met a few of the other kids who will be in his class.

first thing they were doing a task using their symbols and one wee girl who had taken a shine to him kept saying "Evan go" and wanting him to take his turn first.
then they had a music lesson and went outside for a bit after lunch.

when i went to get him at 3 he was sitting outside in the shade of a tree with his new teacher and his CE teacher and he was smiling loads when i asked if he'd had a good day!

soooo pleased, i always knew it was the right school for him but to see he had enjoyed himself really made my day!

Fab, so pleased he had a great day. Is he going to MS or SN school?

SN school. Its a physical impairment school which focuses heavily on communication so its perfect for him

CAn't wait to see his picture onf him on your profile in his uniform (as long as it doesn't replace the one of him as a pirate).

So glad school is what you wanted for him - hope the settling in period goes well for you. You talking of P1 makes me homesick!
