Ignore me if I'm talking a load of rubbish, but my mum works with a lady whose 5 yo son has CP and I'm sure she said he has botox to help with his muscle spasms. Could that be right or have I misheard?

I was also going to say Soc Svs and respite. I know its not the answer to everything and getting carers can sometimes be more hard work than its worth. But if you find someone good then it should help, at least to be able to plan a little, even if just to catch up on sleep. How come you have to wait for a Social Worker? Can't the Duty one deal with it and pass on to allocated Soc Worker (if and) when they come? Its hard to do much about the Social Care side when it doesn't work, other than complain, and most of us don't really want to do that, we want it sorted out. Also its the last thing you want to do when you're exhausted. In the Education area it is much clearer and Rights (capital R) are established. Do you have anyone who can get on their backs? Local support service or a friend who understands things a bit? We have the charity Kids locally who will help parents deal with Soc Care issues, otherwise its very hard to get anywhere until they feel like it, JR Rankers!

Your feelings and emotions are as natural as possible, venting like this is important to stay mentally healthy.
