How old is your dd,lisa?
My dd was 7 at the time of her first appointment. I told her that we were going to see special helpers who might be able to help her with her worries (anxiety was a huge factor at that time.)

I reassured her that it was nothing to get scared about -mammy and daddy would probably talk to the helpers while dd played, then they might want to talk to her or play a game with her.

I said that lots of children went to see these helpers, because lots of children have things that worry them and make them stressed.
I kind of played it all down and made it seem run-of-the-mill. She was a bit nervous, but coped ok.

Good luck on Monday.

she is 6years old. I did explain that we were going to see a special doctor that was going to try and help with her worries. She too get very worried and paniced, but not sure she got it because she said "if the doctor says there is something wrong, i dont have to go back to school"

My dd had school anxiety, too -in fact, due to crap non-existent help from them, we now home educate her. But that's a whole other story!

After the first appointment, she asked to go back to play with the doll's house, so she didn't get it either

Let us know how you get on.
