Although dd has always role played a bit over the past week she is actually sitting for a good 10-15 minutes with her doll house. Picking up the people and putting them face to face and they are having little conversations.
I hid behind her bedroom door today and have to admit I was a little bit tearful as I was so happy!
I know it's only a small thing but to me it's huge!!!!
I have also noticed that she is more affectionate and is sitting and joining in with us all far more than she used to. I think she didn't have the concentration tbh. Spent most of the time bouncing or upside down
Also the eating non-food items has stopped!
It's amazing. I am quite shocked really at the change and could never see myself feeding any of us processed foods. I was the queen of processed foods by the way. Everything we ate was ready made. I just couldn't go back to that now.

Just taken out all processed food. Switched as much to organic as I can. Cooking everything from fresh. Only drinking pineapple juice or organic squash.
No crisps, sweets or junk food at all.

i am so proud of you....I am daunted/scared of changing the boys diets...but often wonder 'if i did this or that...i wonder what would happen'

Thanks MrsF . I couldn't go back now I have seen such a huge change. Infact she is even making more conversation, it is unbelievable!!! You can do it, if I can then anyone can!

Bh, that's brilliant! What an encouraging post. I really believe so strongly that food changes = behavioural changes.

And it's so true - once you stop eating the crap you really can't imagine going back to it, can you? Just thought of a frozen pizza and a plate of oven chips....bleaugh.

(Says she, bar of chocolate in hand - organic though )

Pruni - I do, thanks . I was very sceptical at first but having seen the results I could never go back. It's been so theraputic for me to cook too.
It is also good as a mum to know you are doing something to help!

Oh Snafu - I have just had a Rachel organic yoghurt. It was apple and toffee - highly recommended!!!
Infact Snafu it's funny as I was looking in the fridge ans saw some left over smiley faces, and I binned them!!!!

Great news, BH!

I would be too scared to do that with my 2 as there is so little that they actually eat. Ds1 eats a lot of fruit and certain vegetables but very little else. He's very thin already. Ds2 eats very little food and has already lost all of his baby fat. The thought of cutting out more food is just too scary tbh.

Snafu - I am addicted. Yesterday I had the toffee and today it was apple and butterscotch. Got it mixed up. You can really taste the freshness though can't you.

Coppertop - it's not cutting out exactly but tweaking there diet. It is hard but now life is already much easier with dd so it is balancing itself out.

They are fab. And have also recently discovered Innocent smoothies for kids - they come in four-packs and they are fantastic as well. All good stuff, pure fruit, no nasties. Ds already thinks they're a real treat - any good for your dd?

My local Waitrose had them - and is doing a 33% off promo until May. They are £1.99 for four atm. Website is here if you want to check ingredients etc and also has a list of stockists. God, I sound as if I work for them

Just found this BH. Well done for sticking to the changes in diet. Just makes me wonder - I've always cooked from scratch and J's rarely had processed food - what on earth would he have been like otherwise?! Can't bear to think about it!

Hope you continue to see improvements, and I'm sure you will.

Thanks Potty It has made have to cook rather than open a box ans shove things in the oven Dd'd behaviour has calmed down so much that I now don't have to spend so much time watching her!!!

I must admit I've been trying a bit harder with my children's diet especially ds2 and dd who both have SAT's this time so need to be concentrating a bit more - plus dd eats no fruit whatsoever.

She's 11 now and I really thought I'd have got it sorted by now but she still doesn't have any - not even fruit juice, fruit yogurt or flavoured milkshake. I thought it related to her being NG fed and her general aversion to food early on but now I just think she's stubborn or its a control thing.

Potty - your dd may be too old for this but is there anyway you can give her fruit but hidden in something? I mean both of my children love all fruit but vegetables are a bit harder to give. So I made the Jamie Oliver very veggie sauce which has loads of vegetables in it. Ds was most put out when I told him it had onions in, he hates them. However that didn't stop him clearing his plate and asking for more before he knew!
